Great tool to aid in gripping and adding torque to larger screw type items

Bought this when they stopped carrying the plastic ones for the GE dual water filter. When it came time to change the filter and knew I had this tool. Tried using but it just kept slipping around the outer housing. Went on line to see if I was doing something wrong. No this is just a piece of junk. No way to keep the strap tight other than trying to hold it by hand. I was so frustrated trying to use this that I got out from under sink and tossed it in the trash can.

Bought this product to remove water filter housing. It did not work what so ever. I could not tighten the strap enough and it was too slick on the plastic housing. The teeth a not big enough to have an impact on the housing i am trying to remove. Did not work for me at all. Home depot should ditch this product right away.

Completely worthless. Nothing retains the strap, so it slips from the handle. The handle is also shaped so that it levers into the filter housing, thus damaging the housing. Home Depot should NOT carry this product and carry the traditional filter wrench designed for this purpose.

Strap pulled out of handle on first use. While attempting to loosen a very tight whole house filter the strap pulled completely out of the handle. One small screw is all that holds the end into the handle and the torque required to loosen my filter was too much for it to bear. Was able to reattach the strap and finish the project. For a plastic handle I didn't anticipate extreme durability and it is inexpensive. For most applications this will work just fine.

The Depot no longer carries the indented plastic wrenches needed to unscrew typical under-the-sink water filters, so this general use "strap wrench" is it! The plastic filter wrenches were good for several uses and locked onto the ribs on the filter housing far more securely - but tended to break suddenly. There are metal wrenches for the purpose, but at double the cost or more - check Google. This strap wrench will tend to slip on the smooth plastic housing, unless you bear the handle onto one of the ribs on the plastic. Alternatively, you might wrap a high-friction material, like silicone drawer liner, around the interior of the strap, giving better purchase.

Just bought this to change my house water filter and the strap is way too slick to grab on to anything. When I applied any sort of pressure, the plastic handle snapped and that was that. Exchanging for a rubber strap as that has to be better than this garbage.
