Customer Questions & Answers

What kind of plastic and how thick is it?

Asked by: BwanaD
Plastic bags are primarily made from Polyethylene , probably Low density grade There are 3 nominal grades, Low density, Medium density, and Hi density 3 MIL (meaning .003" thick) ( 3 thousandths of an inch ) or ( .0762 mm ) Bags are made on a Blown film extrusion line, of which use Pure/virgin polyethylene (no recycle material what so ever) Clear bags offered are only .001" thick, and I believe as thin as practical for general usage .

cubic yard

how many bags when full = 1 cubic yard
Asked by: april
It is a unit of linear measurement that is multiplied by itself twice to show volume. One yard is 3 feet so it is 3 ft times 3 ft times 3 ft which is 27 cf.

how much does it cost for a pallet of contraxctor trash bags

how much does it cost for a pallet of contraxctor trash bags
Asked by: Cheryl
I just want to state that if you are going to buy a pallet of these see if there are any bulk purchase discounts. Also that would be 600 42 Gallon bags In your case walk in and ask for the Contractor relations manager they will help you get the best deal possible.

42 Gal. Contractor Bags (50-Count) is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 442.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Smells Like I have been using these bags for years and always been very happy with the quality of the bags and the value. That was until recently when I opened the box and removed a bag that stunk of perfume. Seeing that I am highly allergic to perfume it makes using the bags absolutely miserable. I am not sure why the bags need to smell like a bottle of perfume but I will not be purchasing these bags in the future. I would have at least appreciated the manufacture indicating that scent had been added to the bags so I would not have wasted my money buying them.

I use these when cleaning out my rental properties(I have 14) after a tenant leaves. I've dealt with tenants that leave the place clean and spotless and some that leave EVERYTHING including furniture and a fridge full of food and everything in between. These can handle nearly all household junk/objects that you can think of. You need to use common sense and not put sharp or pointed objects for your and the garbage collector's safety. I have put things like broken ceramics and forks into these and it will handle them. As far as weight, I've gotten these pretty full of heavy stuff(books, full containers of liquid, wood, window blinds) and they've never broken. The only limit is what I can comfortably lift and what the waste collector's guidelines are in terms of bag weight. If you've got some heavy duty cleaning to do, these are a must have!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Big and tough I like to keep two large garbage containers in the garage so that I can take the white kitchen bag out and toss it into the garage. These are the only bags large enough to line a typical large garbage can. The night before garbage pickup, I just remove these bags, tie them and place them at the curb. In over 10 years, I have never had one of these bags break on me. They are super tough!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No more trash all over the road This is a great heavy-duty trash bag. I use it primarily to line my large, rolling trash bin to keep it clean and corral all the stuff I dump in every week. When loaded I tie the top and this guarantees that nothing spills out in the transfer to the truck. What a blessing. The trash collectors love it too since it makes their job easier and faster.

They are very strong. I like them because they come in a roll. I them because they are NOT connected together by perforation. So they separate easily. They have bunny ears so they tie up easily. I have compared the cost of bags everywhere and these are priced perfectly.

I've been buying and using these bags for probably more than 15 years, and think they're great! If anything, I wish they also came in a 55 gal size. Sometimes the 42 gal. isn't large enough for various uses other than trash bags. Would have definitely given them a 5-star rating if they were available in a larger size.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Must have for any contractor One of my always stocked items, I never go to a job without having these bags on hand. They can be expensive but worth their weight in gold when they do not break open in a clients home, or when moving materials that might puncture through regular bags. When these bags go on sale I always stock up.

The extra thick plastic holds up really well when adding garbage or odd shaped sharper pieces. I hate using the thin generic bags that always tear or fall apart when you put heavier trash in them. The tie flaps on the bags work fantastic. I would recommend.
