The bags are 3 mil in thickness. They are a gray plastic. If you look them up on the Home Depot website the info you want about type of plastic should be available under Specifications or Product Description.

I do not know what type of plastic. Just that it was thin enough to be very flexible. It was not a heavy-duty plastic.

It is a unit of linear measurement that is multiplied by itself twice to show volume. One yard is 3 feet so it is 3 ft times 3 ft times 3 ft which is 27 cf.

Bag is 42 gallons - there are 201 gallons in a cubic yard - so I would say it would take approx. 5 of these bags to hold a cubic yard.

well the bags are made of poly-ethylene resin. the manufacturer, poly-america has a section on their website detailing how they are recycling the resin. so i would say technically they are, but ensure that your local recycler collects and ships out this resin.

Well, ... recyclable.... I really can't tell you... I CAN tell you that like most any material (man-made or a product of nature) the earth it self has been recycling everything for Billions of years.....maybe not as quickly as some humans would like, but it always DOES recycle EVERY and ANYTHING!!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Bags, Have used them for years. These bags are heavy duty. Very difficult to poke holes in them. We utilize them for our garbage cans in our fraternity. They hold liquid quite well, and even broken glass. April 26, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by They are trash bags They hold trash but are expensive. Kind of small also, I would have preferred larger. I guess if you are gentle with them you can reuse them. May 17, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great for hauling heavy / pointy / leaky debris Not all trashbags are created equal. I have regular, very thin, bags for typical household waste collection. But spend the extra dollars and use these contractor grade bags when I need to haul heavy items. Currently I am tearing out carpet and putting in hardwoods, which means lots of debris. Including those annoying carpet tack strips. I can toss those multi-pointed strips into these bags without much worry of puncture. So if you have heavy / leaky / pointy items, these are the bags you should reach for. (Note they now seem to have some sort of fragrance added to the bags plastic, the box I purchased 2 years ago did not). March 29, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Garbage bags There able to hold a lot of weight. Almost more than ur able to carry. May 17, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Does the job! These bags are not for everyday trash. They are a LOT bigger and stronger than ordinary large-size household black garbage bags. Thick and sturdy. More expensive, but worth it for larger, heavier, sharper items. There are no attached loops to tie them but I don't need those. Excellent product. May 17, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Dynamic Extra tough, strong, and durable. The only bags that won't break. Always recommend. May 13, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Smells Like I have been using these bags for years and always been very happy with the quality of the bags and the value. That was until recently when I opened the box and removed a bag that stunk of perfume. Seeing that I am highly allergic to perfume it makes using the bags absolutely miserable. I am not sure why the bags need to smell like a bottle of perfume but I will not be purchasing these bags in the future. I would have at least appreciated the manufacture indicating that scent had been added to the bags so I would not have wasted my money buying them. April 14, 2016
