This AC effectively cools a 200 square foot bedroom with 9 1/2 foot ceilings even with imperfect sealing to the outside--the imperfect sealing was my choice. I have used it for the past 6 weeks. It gets down to 77 within minutes. I've gotten it cooler but don't like it really cold so haven't tried it much below 75. Reasonably quiet as portable AC's go, viz., I can sleep through the night without waking. Window AC's are definitely better if you can do it. (See picture-I faced an issue with a window on a fire escape that also has a gate so I elected to install this through a small hole so I could simply raise the window and get out in case of fire. The external hose connection supplied was wider than the size of my previously created hole so we used the one from my prior AC with the old sliding part but new hose (hose diameter is standard). If you are doing a normal double-hung installation this is not a problem.
I used my prior portable--8,000 BTU--infrequently because it always woke me up and it labored for an hour to get the temperature down to 79 degrees. So this is a miracle by comparison. I find the storage of the remote (which I thought, initially, was genius) a minor nuisance because of the need to fit it back in precisely. This is REALLY minor.

The air that comes out is cool - but the compressor makes so much hot air that it creates its own heat source. The panels are not big enough for my sliding glass door - so I had to put the vent in my tiny bathroom window. The panel was too big. The ducting connections are hard to work with - the ducting is too short for my setup. I ended up breaking a few bathroom decorations as I tried to get this working.
I faced the unit toward my room. After 4 hours the temperature showed 5 degrees lower. I left it on for more hours trying to get the temperature below 70. Never happened. Very unhappy - but I think they're all pretty much the same.

The good Points: It was really easy to install and fits perfectly in the place I had picked out for it. It blows a good strong stream of cold air and keeps the room I have it in about 5 degrees cooler than outside if the Temp is in the 90's, and it does better if it's only around 85 outside. I live in a very dry climate (New Mexico) and it has made things a little better this summer.
The less Good Points: It's pretty noisy, but not outlandish. It added a noticeable chunk to our electric bill. Nights are cool here, so we turn it off around 11 pm...and it added about $30 to the electric bill.

We are very happy with our purchase. It easily cools our 200 s.f. bedroom and works best if it's turned on early in the day, before outside and inside heat builds up (over 85 degrees or so). We often use it to cool down the rest of our 500 s.f. cabin retreat by opening the bedroom door and setting a box fan in the hallway to pull cooled air into the great room.
The unit is very attractive, works great, and we have had NO issues in keeping the exhaust hose attached to the back of the unit or the window vent like I've read about concerning other makers' units. Also, we've had no problems with leakage or condensation and have had no reason to empty the reservoir. We just turn it on and let it do its thing.

I have had this unit for a couple months now and I absolutely love it! My bedroom is about 12 by 16 or so and it cools it to where it is freezing in no time. I have had haier in the past and all the units I have had lasted for years. The light is bright on the unit but I just put something over it and it's fine. The noise level isn't bad, I don't think. I need the fan noise when I sleep so it doesn't bother me. I would recommend this unit to everyone. I am very pleased with it.

Although I have not used the product myself, I did research evaluating similar products. This product has the lowest db level of all similar products. Its energy saving level is not the best, but among the best. Hence, overall it is better product than most competitors in terms of quality and price whichever is more important for people.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Jeff Beware: Dedicated Circuit Might be Needed to Prevent Overloading Circuit
I did not have a positive experience with the Haier 10,000 BTU 350 sq. ft. portable air conditioner, but it is not the product's fault. I attempted to use the air conditioner in our bonus room over our garage. Anyone with such a room knows how difficult it is to keep the room properly cooled or heated. I plugged the machine in and it seemed to work fine for approximately fifteen minutes and then the power in the room shut down. I went to the circuit board, flipped the switch, tried again and again, but the same thing happened. I read a lot of reviews on this product before purchasing it but I do not recall anyone experiencing the same problem. The air conditioner overloaded our circuit. Am I the only one who has had this problem? We clearly have too many things running on the circuit. The air conditioner needs a dedicated circuit in our house or at least one that has very few things running on it. If possible, find out if the machine can work effectively in your chosen room before purchasing. We plan to call our electrician for feedback. In the meantime, we returned the product to Home Depot without a hassle.

I received an email asking me to rate this product. Ironically I’m returning it today. It’s a nice enough unit. It’s stylish. It’s pretty quiet compared to others. The issue is it just does not cool the size of room it states on the packaging (up to 350 sq ft). I have a less than 300 sq ft room. It just can not keep up on these Arizona summer days. It’s not even the primary AC for the room. We have central air, so this unit serves as a supplement as my room is the last stop for the central AC. The room gets to ~86F under normal cooling circumstances but the portable AC can only muster to drop the room about 5 degrees on a 105F sunny day. I purchased a 12000 BTU LG recently off of Amazon as every Home Depot in Phoenix is sold out of portable ACs. By comparison this unit is MUCH better at cooling the room under similar conditions. I can get the room down to 74F versus 85F. As I mentioned this one is going back.
