Rated 1 out of 5 by Poor quality, not very efficient! Avoid Haier products! I purchased this unit 13 months ago. It worked ok for the first season, however it is definitely less efficient and louder than the window unit it replaced. Fast forward to this summer season and after 1 night of use, it stopped working and displays an "EE" error code. Haier customer service was absolutely useless in helping to troubleshoot the cause of the error code. They claimed that they do have a technical support department. Since I was outside the 12 month warranty period, they recommended that I use the yellow pages to find a appliance repair shop! I also have a smaller 8,000 BTU Haier portable A/C that has been a disappointment compared to other portable A/C's I've previously purchased. All in all, a poor quality product with even worse customer service. I will never by a Haier product again! June 30, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Commercial Cool feedback I have a Commercial Cool portable air conditioner Model CPR10X CX 9-L. I installed it, (completely dry and drain plug in place) (filters and coils are clean), and after only three hours of use, the unit is full of water and over a gallon of water has overflowed onto the floor.- Clean, dry and repeat. Same results. The unit does not operate as advertised. In my opinion Commercial Cool should fix or replace every unit manufactured. Hopefully they will do the right thing. All of the legal expences need not be applied. Class action law suits can be quite costly. - Am I overreacting or is their a simple fix I am overlooking? I can obviously elevate the unit and run a drain hose, but that is not the way the unit is marketed. August 1, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Haier 10,000BTU Portable AC Unfortunately, this unit is not working for me. I purchased it to cool a 285 square foot garage that I use as a work space. I live in Venice California where the humidity is quite low and the temperature rarely goes above 75. That being said, because my garage is directly in the way of the sun's rays (there is absolutely no shade), the temp inside the studio will get between 80 and 88, and sometimes higher. Unfortunately, I can't seem, under any circumstances to get the garage to cool enough (during the day when I need it to cool off). If it isn't too hot outside, it will go down to about 74. But typically, when it is mid day, the temp won't go below 77. Yesterday, I had a few friends in the studio with me, and the temperature wouldn't go below 83 during the middle of the day. The unit definitely shaves a definitive 5-8 degrees off whatever the temperature would be without it, but that is about the size of it (at least for my particular setup). In addition, the hose continually falls out of the window exhaust fixture. As many times as I lock it into the window fixture, by the next morning, it has fallen out of the window. I think this unit would probably work great for a small room in a home (particularly if the room is in shade or not on a side of the house and in the way of the sun's direct rays). I'm thinking I'm likely going to have to return the unit and get a 12,000 BTU unit (even though I only have a 285 sq ft space). August 16, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by poor performance The compressor in this unit failed when it was just past warrantee. Cost to repair exceeds purchase price. I would not recommend purchasing this air conditioner. August 11, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Buy I live up in Surrey, BC. Even though my house is on top of a mountain few days in the summer it gets really hot during night times. i came across this two years ago at Home depot. Real Solid product, i hooked it up to my bedroom window. the amount of air drwan is tremendous i can feel the draft from my bedroom door , its funny as i am big guy and i have to push the door hard to close. bedroom size is 20x15, i only leave it on for 4-5 hours it chills the room like a freezer. Only one time i had a problem with leaking unit exchanged it back at Home Depot and so far no complains. Its supposed to be self evaporating no no mess with draining water. Humidifier and Heat functions are great although i have only used fan and AC. On the Con side a Bit loud. You can hear the unit work. Single outlet for exhaust. Would highly recommend this to anyone.
