Please check your battery on he remote. If it is old, replace it.. If you just replaced them, check to see if it is in the correct orientation.
If everything looks okay, remove the battery and re-install again.(may be it does not have good contact) Unplug the AC and plug it back after 1 minute. See if that helps.

Can you please give us some more details about your situation? Is the unit installed in a very humid area? Does it only shut off in cooling mode? Have you tried to use it in the dehumidification mode? How do you have it installed? Is there at least 8 inches of clearance around the sides? With a little more information, we can assist you better.

Is there an energy saving mode where the using shuts off until the temperature rises? Or will the unit just switch to fan mode (condenser shut off) until it rises then start coolin again?

Yes, in the dehumidifier mode, the Haier unit will expel heat from the exhaust vent but you have three choices: (1) Connect the exhaust tube to the window. In such a case, the air removed from the room will necessarily be replaced by humid air from the outside through house air gaps. So the hot air will be exhausted out of the house but humid warm air will be sucked in to the house which will tend to reduce the dehumidification efficiency. But if you are dehumidifying a basement and the outside air (or house air) has lower humidity then this is not a problem. (2) On the other hand, if the window vent is not connected and the unit is vented into the house, the unit will not suck in humid air from the outside but the exhausted air will tend to heat up the house. However, the humidity will decrease. (3) In AC mode, similar considerations apply. Generally in AC mode the exhaust is vented to the outside through a window. Yes the Haier will suck in warm humid air from the outside through air gaps in the house structure which reduces the cooling efficiency. But it will also cool the room and reduce the humidity. So you have your choice. As a NOTE: All dehumidifiers extract heat from the air so that the water in the air can condense out (similar to a glass of ice collecting water droplets on the glass). But as a result, this heat must be expelled somewhere either inside or outside. Some people look for portable air conditioners with two exhaust tubes: one to suck air inside to cool the unit and the other to push that air along with the heat to the outside. In some respects, the dual-tube units are the better units. Read Less

To prevent the temperature from rising, you will need to remove the hose from the exhaust.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great purchase Unit works as described- was placed in a 20x20 un- insulated garage- to cool the area for our dogs and also doubles as a photography studio- weather had been in the high 90's, easily brought the area down to 75-78- when allowed to run overnight to precondition the area, easily held the temp at 72-75 when outside was 99. No issues yet- I permanently installed an exhaust port on the wall. the air from this hose is very hot- its important that you seal the exhaust area so no hot air gets pulled back in the room. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Problems from the get go Bought this from the positive reviews, hoping that that mine wouldnt' be one of the ones with all of the issues. Something must have happened during shipping. We got one with a cracked connector, snapped valve, scratched front. Was able to set it up fine, but then it leaked allllllll over my hardwood floors. The only way I could run it was if I put cookie sheets underneath it to catch the water. Called HD, they said to return it no problem. Called Haeirer and they were useles, tell me to empty things that this model didn't even have. Clearly the condenser isn't working. Now I have to lug this thing back to HD and wait in the 90+ degree weather a week for a new one. Not thrilled to say the least. On the plus side it did an ok job at cooling and the noise wasn't too bad. Looks nice too. August 13, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Air Conditioner review This air conditioner does a great job cooling down our medium sized room. I use a box fan to distribute the air out into other rooms. While I think the unit does a great job cooling, I wish it were quieter. I, personally, cannot sleep with this unit on because of the noise it makes when the thermostat kicks it into a higher or lower gear to regulate the temperature. That noise jolts me awake. But, i understand that it'll never be as quiet as central air. I do enjoy the timer that can be set to turn on after a few hours, or run for a few hours. In the future, I would purchase a unit that could be programmed to run at a particular time of day for a set number of hours. August 2, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Unit is twice the size- width and depth with hose attachment The unit is huge. The depth and width measurement is deceptive, there is a connecting piece as well as a hose attachment, the closest the AC can get to a wall is 25" from the front, double the width to get an accurate size. The hose attachment gets hot when running the AC. Think cooling down a room while the oven is on. My less expensive window unit with 10,000 BTU in a larger room works better than this. After trying this AC in two rooms, I have to exchange it for a window unit that uses less space and cools down a room while not heating it up at the same time. August 9, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by very happy Product worked better then I expected. I have this in our Family room with a fan blowing the air down the hall to help in the other rooms of the house. I wasn't sure what to expect with running this way, asking it to cool down close to 1000 sq. ft. Most of the house never got all the way down to when the A/C unit was set at, but with the outside temp over 90 deg. it was able to keep the house at a comfortable level. If I only asked it to cool the 450 sq. ft. that it is rated for it would have no problem. August 23, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Works well The only thing I didn't like about this item is the size of the 46" window casing wasn't large enough for my window and it makes it so difficult to trap my window to the plastic. Also I have to remove it and put it back on when I leave my house due to security reasons. Just wish there was something larger or with more cushion or sponge type of molding around the plastic casing. It should be noted that if you have blinds that open vertically it makes it hard for the blinds to go around the hose. August 23, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Just OK I purchased this unit to cool the main floor which is under 500 feet with a mostly open floor plan. On a really warm and humid day, it can cool the main room by a few degrees only and the surrounding rooms even less. Am somewhat disappointed but it's better than nothing. Also, although the decibels are supposedly lower than similar models, it's still pretty loud so have to increase the volume on the tv a lot to hear. Was easy to install. August 23, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by A good product, as advertised This conditioner is working well in our large living room. August 23, 2016
