Thank you for your question!
You could connect 1/2 inch plastic tubing and attach it to the lower drain.
Make sure to route the tubing as straight as possible from the drain.

Answer:
I would think that would not be a problem. Installing a "dryer" vent with a self closing flap would be a good solution if you don't want or can't use the window vent. I am sure if you just compare the flex vent hose diameter to the vent prior to cutting into your wall it do fine. Hope this helps!

Rated 3.8 out of 5 by 212 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great for a small space. Easy to setup and install. I needed this for a 200 sq ft. office on the central California coast that has southern exposure with 2/3 of the southern wall being windows. I didn't want to have to keep the blinds closed and block the view just to keep the office from becoming a greenhouse. This unit fits right under my desk and is was easy to connect exhaust through the window. It is able to compete with full-sun and keep the temp at a reasonable 68 degrees (or lower if I want it). For all the environmental extremists - yes, I could just close the blinds and save the electricity, but I already have reduced to showering once a week for water conservation. At least I can now retain my view. May 3, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Compressor Went Out in 60 days This has to be up on bricks to drain the water out every couple days. This pulls LOT of water and I live in arid NM desert. Can't imagine what humid area does and how often have to drain. The drain is right at bottom edge of a/c so to get water out has to be on bricks so can get bowl below to catch the water. Had for 60 days and compressor went out completely. The vent across front can not be moved in any direction for air flow. Also possible for small items to fall into the unit - not good if small children around w/small objects. This and location for drain very poor design. Not to mention 60 day life for compressor. Very disappointed. Returning to store Today! July 27, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A Great Update to an Already Solid Model A little insight on this model: this model is the replacement for the outgoing 7,000 BTU CPRB07XC7. That unit had the same shell/case, but offered only two speeds, consumed 800w, had an Energy Efficiency Ratio (EER) of only 8.75, and used R-22 (which has been phased out because of its tendency to damage the ozone layer). It was sold under the "Commercial Cool" brand name. Fast forward a few years and we have the current model HPRB08XCM. Although they look almost identical, Haier made major improvements under the shell. The current model uses only 700 watts, giving it an EER of 11.4 (the Home Depot website lists this incorrectly as 7.5), rivaling the efficiency of some Energy Star window units. In addition to being very energy efficient, the current model also offers 3 speeds (an additional slower speed to reduce noise at night. The previous two speeds were the medium and high settings.) and also uses environmentally-friendly R-410 instead of the old R-22. Because of these updates, you'll notice that some of the limitations of previous portable air conditioners won't apply here. This is a relatively quiet (on low) high-efficiency model that pulls less electricity than some 8,000 BTU window units. Having said that, it is still a single-hose unit, SO IT WILL TAKE LONGER to cool down a room than a window unit. However, IT WILL do it as long as you are using it for a room of the rated size. My recommendation is to get the room to the temperature you want at night and use the unit to MAINTAIN that temperature through the day. Portables are great when used that way. I highly recommend this unit; it's a great upgrade to the previous 7,000 BTU unit (which won awards because of its innovative looks and performance when it was initially released years ago). Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Air conditioner The fan on the air conditioner works well, when I use the air conditioner it doesn't get below 78 degrees it the real humid weather it does not get below 80 degrees. does not make my room very cold August 16, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by The little AC that could I had recently renovated my attic but had no AC. Of course all recommended upgrading the house system which would have cost thousands but I researched ALOT online and saw great reviews on this. 8,000BTU for a large attic/master with open bath seemed ridiculous. But this little AC is the little engine that could. With the super hot summer, I keep it on and the room is constantly cool. I would highly recommend it. It is small enough to disappear visually under the attic eave, but efficient enough to make the full AC upgrade unnecessary. Great buy! August 2, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Stinks when air runs Can't seem to troubleshoot why it smells when the air runs August 18, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not as expected Does not cool a small bedroom as expected. When you turn off to clean filter and turn back on it for some reason doesn't "reset" to cool. We have to turn off again & it somehow resets internally to blow cool air. Not worth the money. Will definitely go back to window unit next summer. Went with this so wouldn't have "ugly" unit hanging out window, comfort is way more important than looks. August 16, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by ok Room is 200ft and it did not cool as expected you have to be within 5 ft from it to feel cool. August 12, 2016
