I read other reviews and wanted to see why there is such a disparity in them. I like the idea with three women using that bathroom. I removed the old stopper adjusted it and it worked OK. This drain was all plastic so no trouble. However I tried to install it in brass drain there was no way. The wings got caught on sharp ridges and ripped them off. If you know all of your bathroom drain is plastic it's fine, but it doesn't work with brass unless you honed it out.

ClogFree No Clog Pop-Up Stopper Retrofit in Chrome is easy to install. Its a plastic stopper with a plastic chrome top cover which you just slip into the sink drain. It has a fork attachment for the rod under the sink in the drain to hold in place. You simply press it down on the rod until it is the right height. The chrome top is attached to the body with a plastic thread so it can be turned to set the height of the stopper as a fine tune adjustment. Under the top is a rubber gasket that keeps a seal so water stays in the sink bowl. The unusual part of this are plastic wings on two sides that create a baffle for water, hair and gunk to run over. This causes the hair and gunk to collect on the plastic baffles which you then go back and slip out the stopper to clean. My only issue is it seems a bit flimsy compared to my old stopper which was all metal. I must be more careful with this one, but unless the fork or the thread height adjustment for the top breaks should work just fine. It worked on my sink as promised. I finally can take a shave in the morning where the water hasn't all run out of the sink before I'm finished.

I don't know why my bathroom sink gets clogged all the time. I have a beard an d I really don't shave that often yet my sink continues to drain slowly all the time. Since I installed this HairFree Pop-Up Stopper it is a much easier task now to clear the drain. This product was pretty simple to install and very easy to clean when the drain starts to act up.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by CarterB Does what it says. Easy to install and clean.
This stopper replaces a variety of others with a design intended to prevent hair clogs by diverting water flow away from the stopper connecting rod. The thin wings or flaps that stick out from the sides send long hairs around the rod while still providing adequate drainage.
I had no issues with installation; The stopper pushes down easily on the rod and can be removed in the future without having to take the rod out. The stopper otherwise works the same by the lifting the rod up and pushing it down (you do not have to push the stopper itself). This stopper actually improved the drainage in my sink since the old one sat down too low and blocked water flow.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by sagu Its a hair stopper
Well, its a hair stopper, what else do you expect it to do. It was easy to install and to pull it out, all you have to do is pull it up. Its made of plastic and am hoping its durable. Per product packaging, it states that you should be able to replace many different kind of stoppers. I haven't tried that myself though.
Hope it does its job and prevents hair buildup.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by BobP Pop-up stopper doesn't work with existing sink mechanism
Was wondering how this stopper worked with the existing pop up bar mechanism. Simple answer is that it doesn't. The mechanism to open and close the drain doesn't work with this stopper. Its very easy to install, you just disconnect the existing stopper from the bar and pull it out. Then put the bar and screw that holds it in place back together so the water doesn't leak out under the sink. Then stick the pop-up stopper down the drain so it straddles the bar. But now in order to open and close the drain you have to grab the stopper with your fingers and open or close it manually. So, when you sink is full you have to reach down into the water and pull it up with your fingers to let the water drain. This doesn't seem like a good solution. If it worked in conjuction with the pop-up mechanism in your sink this would be a great solution, but this model disengages that mechanism.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by pandaman1 Great invention!
These Pop Stoppers solved TWO problems I had.
#1 They do a GREAT job catching the hair.
#2 My bathroom sinks never drained properly (not because of the hair) & my plumber told me they never would because they didn't have the visible vent like the older sinks do.
Boy was he wrong. With the Pop Stoppers you can easily adjust the height of the stoppers. Now my drains not only catch the hair but they drain like a sink should.
Boy am I happy.

I usually have to clean the bathroom sink drain every 2-3 months, due to hair clogs. This is working great. Could it be that I won't have to "snake' the drain again? This is a very inexpensive and ingenious solution to my drain problem.
