Customer Questions & Answers

How do you change the bulb?

Asked by: Puzzled
Howdy Puzzled, You would use your fingernails to pull the light from the outside flange down. There are "friction clips" that hold the flange to the can fixture. When you pull down the flange you can squeeze the clips and remove the fixture. Once removed you can change the bulb. The good news is with LED technology, you can have 10-15 years till you need to change the bulb. Happy lighting, Coach Dave

Customer Reviews

3 in. Tuscan Bronze Recessed Lighting Adjustable Gimbal Trim is rated 2.3 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good Lighting but Difficult to Change These lights were installed into my living room and dining room prior to moving into my condo as part of a "flip." They look really nice and add a classy look to the place. The lighting works well, particularly with a dimmer switch. I also like the feature that allows them to be angled. I still have not figured out how to change the bulbs, however, because it is nearly impossible to get a good grip on the fixture, and the outer rim snaps in place and must be pulled away from the ceiling to change the bulb. I have recently even tried pliers to pull the face away from the ceiling with no luck. This is very frustrating and not a user-friendly aspect to the product.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Poor Lackluster Finish Halo products are more expensive than other comparable lighting fixtures at Home Depot and everywhere else for that matter. So, I expected this to be a bright satin nickel finish to match my other fixtures. I was very disappointed when I first took it out of the box. It has this dull brownish grey finish. The texture looks like cheap spray paint. I tried cleaning it and applied a light wax in hope of bringing out a little more luster. But, that didn't help. It is a cast metal construction as it should be. But, when mounted and viewed from afar, it doesn't look impressive at all. Not for the price I paid. Other products at a fraction of the cost looks much better. I returned it and got the white finish instead. Not much cheaper. But at least it doesn't clash with the decor of the other stainless nickel finish fixtures in the room.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Beware All is fine until you need to change a bulb...then disaster. This clips break, then you have to buy another unit and the clips are riveted on, not screwed. There is absolutely NO instruction on-line nor at manufacturers website. You have to pull on the outer ring and twist counter clockwise 1/8th of an inch, any more and you break the clips and back to the store to buy another can, which then has to be re-wired. Buy a different type, these are worthless.
