I have four of these lights in my house and I am currently replacing them after being installed about 2 years ago. First, they burn through bulbs much more quickly than the 6" cans of the same brand (which I am still satisfied with). All of the bulbs in the 4" cans have now been replaced once and two of them have been replaced twice. These lights are in a low traffic area and are not frequently used. Two are on one circuit and two are on another circuit so it is unlikely that it has to do with the wiring. I have tried different bulbs and which both failed much earlier than expected in this type of light. I also was not thrilled with the cheapness of the brackets. The brackets are not a big deal but the performance issues are. At this point I am looking for a higher quality light to replace these with. I will most likely spend more but at least I will not have to replace bulbs every few months.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great purchase They were easy to install and wire. They can have insulation next to them, and because they are on 120v line, they dim with no problem.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Top Notch Halo 99 ICAT I doubt if there is a better airtight, IC can available. Installing these is quick due to features aimed at making life easier for contractors. * Flexible mounting system. * Quick electrical install - "wago" push in connectors, NMD90 plastic clamps: connect wires outside the snap-in JB cover -- no need to use knockouts Best of all (to me) you can pull the can out from main unit to access the junction box after sheetrock is installed. You can also remove the screw holding the edison base to allow for PAR bulbs to mount to gimbal trim if necessary. Note: other than detaching the edison base from the can, there is no bulb depth adjustment on these.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice construction and easy to install Overall the construction is nice. There is no air sealing between most of the sheet metal but it's a lot better sealed that a non IC fixture. I do put some foil tape on the some of the seams if it going in a area where being air tight is important (like a garage or attic). Nice that you spray foam and pack insulation around them.
