Clips were difficult fo snap onto the drywall. Once installed they work and look great.

The tabs will only lock when they can touch the sheet rock ceiling. In my case I had a nailed housing which partially broke. I can not remove the housing plate, which is just a small steel plate, with a hole. I wound up giving up on the four tabs, and cut a 2x4 to 1.5 inches. Drilled two holes in the wiring harness arm, and using two, two inch screws into the rafter. I only have 2x4 rafters. I was lucky in that I had a rafter right next the existing hole. If you were adding the unit to a place that never had a light before, it would probably work fine. I wouldn't recommend in a repair/replacement situation.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by CFP Nice can lights
These can lights are of the typical Halo quality which is good. I bought them because I needed small lights but the trade off is that you use small bulbs which will only give you 6 to 700 lumens per can which was enough for my application. Installation is straight forward but you need to be sure you check the plastic quick connectors for the wire. Some of them needed the factory wire pushed in to be fully seated. They look great and are very solid.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Jerry Bend/spread the clips apart in half inch increments until your able to push them up with your finger.
I've found that the clips, especially if used with 5/8 in dry wall, are spread too close together right out of the box. Using a pair of pliers bend/spread the clips apart from each other in, an extra, 1/2 inch increments. I struggled like heck to install these right out of the box and was about to return it to HD when I dropped one of the clips onto the floor and notice the clip's spread seemed kinda tight, about an inch and a quarter spread. I checked the other clips and they were close to that measurement but not consistent in their measurement, that's when I spread the clips and they worked perfectly. Good luck.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Lighthanger Halo remodel housing
These housings made the job very easy. I especially liked the push in connectors that came with the housing. Felt like a professional using these cans. I would definitely recommend them to anyone putting in can lights. I used them on the outside of my house to put nine lights across the front. Very pleased with the look and outcome. Great job!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by CCM9er Extremely secure fit, Quick once you get the hang of it
Used for DIY recessed lighting remodel. Worked very well once I realized how to lock clips into place. The trick is to use a flathead screw driver, place the tip on the horizontal slot on the clip and push 'up' to lock into place. It is impossible to do on all 4 sides using only your fingers. Once it slides up into place, it's there for good. Very secure. 4" Retrofit LED lights from Home Depot fit into these perfectly as well.
Also, it comes with the slide in wire clips for quick wiring. They look slightly less heavy duty than others I've seen, but held the 14 gauge wire very securely. Much easier than the wire nuts.
