Rated 4.2 out of 5 by 5 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Finished light Installation The "all in one" system made the installation very easy. There was no choosing "this outer ring" or "this light". Once installed, they provided excellent illumination and aesthetics. Great product, great end result. September 25, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Does not dim well Special ordered about a dozen of these for a house remodel, 8 for a kitchen (thus the 3500K and 90+ CRI) and the rest for baths. Installation was simple enough, although unlike other can retrofits I used these have a grounding wire that must be attached to the can so installation is about 4 times longer. I needed the friction clips, not the spring clips, so after grounding and screwing the plug in I just popped them up tight against the ceiling. The quality of light is good, making them a decent replacement for a halogen. Used them for a few months and now that I have more cash saved I want to put the circuit on a dimmer. They are very bright . But I cannot find a dimmer that they don't "buzz" with. I tried the Lutron Diva DVCL-153P listed first on the Cooper Lighting website as compatible. I also tried a Leviton DSL06-1TW, which works with my other LED retrofits. And I tried a Legrand ADTP703TUM (adorne), which I presumed would be functionally equivalent to the H703PTUW also listed as compatible on the Cooper Lighting website. The lights buzz with all of them. It's not a minor buzzing, either, very audible. And the dimmers did not have the same effect on my other LEDs, just these Halos. So now I need to replace them in the kitchen. Also, as another reviewer wrote, the foam gasket is nearly worthless. If you really want an air seal, probably better put a bead of caulk around the flange instead. September 2, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great retro fit This was very easy to install and is a great answer for the old can lights. Great fit and install in 5 minutes. June 28, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by recessed lights tthey look great , work great and were super easy to install June 14, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice looking downlight with room for improvement I tried out the Halo 3000K and 4000K downlight before settling on this 3500k light. The 4000k was very, very bright white, but with my 8 ft ceiling living room, glare was very apparent in general use. It may work better for kitchen or high ceiling rooms. The 3000k was too warm (yellow) for my taste, but gave the right amount of light without glare. This 3500k light is also very, very bright with just the right amount of "warm" light. I may consider a dimmer in the future. This metal trim unit looks nice and solid. There are things that can be improved. The gasket that is suppose to seal out air is very flimsy. It is a 1/2 inch wide cheap foam that came bunched up in a ball. Since the trim is a about 1.25 inches wide, the gasket is sliding around when you install the unit into the ceiling. Another company uses a higher quality foam that covers the whole trim. Tip: Open the gasket gently and reshape, then place a book or heavy magazine on gasket overnight. Another thing I found odd, this brand has extra wires on the outside of the unit while many other brands do not. Yes, that picture is deceptive. On the back of the unit, there are red, green, and black wires coming out of the black shell and they can get in the way during installation. Also, there is a ground wire coming out of the unit. Other units I've looked at has everything covered by the black shell. Weird. Installation...there's a learning curve...'s an LED...they're all overpriced. Trim could be 1/4 inch wider to cover up the imperfect can installation from previous homeowner ...wishful thinking FYI : the specs on the Home Depot and Cooper lighting/ halo sites are out of date except for the 4000k models. The 2014 models of 3000k and 3500k have reduced wattage and iincreased lumens per the labels on the box. I contacted a representative of Cooper lighting in December and he did not have the 2014 specs. Crazy. December 31, 2014
