Rated 4 out of 5Â by Gary Looks good but what about that buzzing
The light looks good and was easy to install but why does it make a low buzzing noise? I'm using the Lutron Skylark LED dimmer switch also purchased at Home Depot. Other then the buzzing, I'm very happy with it.

Installation is nearly as easy as screwing in a light bulb. Remove the bulb and trim, screw a grounding wire to the can, screw in the adapter, and push the fixture into place. I fiddled with the first and really don't have a great place to screw in the ground in my old Juno cans. When placing the new fixture, you need to carefully squeeze and place the spring holders. After the first one, the others took five minutes each to install. I like this particular fixture because it's only 9.4 watts, yet it is extremely bright. The fixed lens is at a depth which I prefer. Some fixtures seem more recessed and I thought they might appear dimmer. A while ago, I was able to compare the illumination as they were on display at HD. They seemed more evenly lit when staring into the illumination area than some others. They are plasticy-looking, but in this price range, they all are. Have had some for six months and just bought more.

I've installed a few of these however, when I went to get more, I found three different types on the shelf with the same box, same model number. I called Cooper Industries and the latest model is the one where you have a lead wire from the socket and a lead wire from the light itself. The one shown on the Home Depot site is an older model. I also found a really old model on the shelf that has a heat sink (looks like a lawnmower flywheel). Bad part is I couldn't find anymore of the latest model.
Cooper Industries does have the latest model shown on their site.
Otherwise these work good. One was dead out of the box and I returned.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by homeowner127 great light but cheap insulation
we just replaced our halogen recessed lights with these LED ones and they work great especially with the dimmer we installed. the only complaint i have is that the foam insulation that it comes with is pretty cheap. it's just a thin strip of gray foam that you're supposed to wrap around the back of the light. i wish it was better quality and is actually shaped for the light.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by Joey There are two versions of this Retrofit Kit (for 6-inch housing).
These Halo retrofit kits come in 2 variations. People who complain about the specs didn't read carefully.
1. The 6-in diamater (only) retrofit has an 8-inch ring. The specs show it correctly. This is only sold online but you can then pick it up from your local store or delivered to your home.
2. The 5-in or 6-in diameter (it fits both) retrofit has a smaller 7.25 inch ring. The specs show it correctly. This is sold online or your local store. This is the only version that is sold in store for 6-in diameter. The version above is online only.
So if you want the bigger ring (8-inches) rather than the 7.25 inches --> you need to buy it online.
