Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by very bright, had to install a dimmer switch for my kitchen. I am very pleased with the lights. I have six of them for my kitchen lighting. I also installed another of the lights for over my sink. I am really enjoying the lower electric bills that I am receiving. The lights are so bright that they even brighten my dining room and living room as well. March 25, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Saves Money.....Eventually Killer product, super bright, But spendy. At 45 bucks per, plus trim equals close to 100 bucks per light. However you never replace them again and use only about 9 watts. I run 7 and never even get to a single 75 watt incandescent equivelant. These are bright as can be as well November 10, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Overall a good retro fit for can lights. I have installed 7 of these, both 4" and 5-6", WAY better that the CFL bulbs in the original cans. While not a difficult install, it still takes a little bit of handiwork and in my case some drilling for the ground wire. I could still use 6 more, but because of the expense I might go with just LED bulbs as they wouldn't be seen or used as much. 3000K is OK, I would prefer 2700K. March 13, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by I loved them so much I put 6 in the garage! Love these things. Run cool. Electric bill down. Easy to install. When they turn on for the first time, they take a few seconds to light I found--same if electricity goes out for a long time. Otherwise, they come on with just a millisecond delay. I bought the 900 lumen version and use the Lutron Maestro digital dimmers. I also got the 3000K which were slightly cooler than the 2700K, but still look give warm incandescent-like light when dimmed. These are solidly built units. With the proprietary trim, these provide airtight ceiling installation. Spendy, yes, but will eventually pay out. I LOVE the look. And they function perfectly. No hum or any issue at all with even one of the 30 I installed and I bought them at different times from different stores. I loved them so much I put 6 in the garage. June 26, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Didn't operate properly upon instalation I was looking to replace/retrofit 20 year old kitchen lighting that had the original 6" Halo cans in. I bought about 6 of these. I decided to install one on a different circuit first to check out the light and see if I really liked it. Installation was relatively easy, however, when I turned the light on it started "blinking" on and off. I could not find an answer anywhere. Checked on google, no luck. In between the "blinks" I decided I didn't really like the luminance of the light as it was. I re-packaged it all up and returned it to HD and bought the Consolidated Electric 6" white gimbal LED model. I installed that model in moments and it worked without any issues. Much better light for lighting my kitchen retrofit project. I'ts probably a "decent" light for many, but it's dis-heartening to buy a product and it doesn't work out of the box... and it was more expensive. February 9, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Finally, A Great LED Can Light We have over 30 recessed can lights in the house that were burning 75 watt halogen bulbs. It became obvious that we needed to do something to save power. I tried at least seven different replacement options, from Home Depot, other general hardware stores and lighting specialty stores. None had the features we needed, brightness, color and flood angle. I happened to be walking through the Home Depot one day when the Halo factory rep was doing a small demo of their new LED fixtures. He suggested I try one of these. It fit all our needs. It even comes with trims for both flush mount and rotating "eyeball" mounting. In fact, be a little careful, there are lots and lots of mounting options so be sure to get the right one! Needless to say, there isn't a can in our house that doesn't have one of these in it. They aren't cheap, but they are worth the price. May 14, 2013
