Very thin steel bends when you try to push the tabs in making it useless. Had to use screws to hold tabs in place. Do not buy this!

Awesome product. It enabled us to switch from Holegen lighting & an awful hanging track lighting system to efficient LED lighting system also purchased at Home Depot. It's just beautiful now, see attached photos.

The tabs that you push in to hold the fixture up are difficult to lock in. This is because they put rubber tape around them to make it air tight, is my assumption. You need to remove this tape for the tabs to lock into position. It is like no one ever tested this product.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fixer "Nearly" Air-Tight Housing
Overall this is a great product. Each conductor, including ground, has a push-in-wire connector for up to 3 wires that makes wiring really easy. The junction box cover plate is removable & can be re-secured without tools. The template for the sheetrock cutout and also the recommended size for the cutout made the hole too tight to get the housing through so I had to do a lot of on-site enlarging of the holes. If you make the hole a quarter-inch larger to begin with it will not affect the air-tightness and it will make it a lot easier to get the housing in. The instructions indicate the housing is supposed to work with 1/2" and 5/8" sheetrock and I was applying them to a ceiling with 5/8" thick sheetrock. I had to stretch the spring clamps to get them to fit.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by KMA4444 Great, if you want something to rework so it's at all usable
The tabs simply do not fit into the housing to retain the fixture to the ceiling without bending them, removing the foam behind the clip and radiusing the top hole where the clip goes through the can. Take the clip out, clean the foam from the backside, then use a 1/4" screwdriver to bend the upper slot where the clip goes through the can towards the inside of the can. That allows the clip to pop into place when you are straining to get it popped into place. I removed old remodel cans that I'm assuming these people copied to make theirs. Difference is, the old ones worked. Fail on the design guys, sure they can be made to work but really,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by klblazer Perfect For Remodel & Upgrade To LED Plug n Play
Purchased these IC Housings to use the new LED plug-ins, which require an existing can. Installation was a little tricky in dealing with the clips. According to the instructions, clips should be tucked in when inserting can into cut-out. Then clips should slide up (inside housing) and be "easily" pushed to locked. Well, not so easy to lock these mothers. After much work and frustration, finally realized you had to place a screwdriver at the ridge but that alone would not engage the clips. Had to use a rubber mallet to knock the clips into place (all 4). Once completed and knowinig this - the remaining 3 cans went in quick and effortlessly.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by FDRoosevelt Not great, but did the job for me
As many others have mentioned, the clips on these can be a challenge to install. The best tip I found is to use a long handled screwdriver with a blade that fits into the slot in the clips (under the gasket). Insert the screwdriver into the slot in the clip and leverage the clip into place. Then slide it up to lock. That helped a lot.
The electrical connections are the convenient push in type. That's a time-saving touch.
The build quality of the fixture is not great. They bend out of shape easily. The cover over the electrical connections pops off too easily. Could be a safety concern. The instructions are not great for the DIYer.
