Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wkendremodler Love the new lighting!!!
Needed to add lighting in kitchen. Purchased 4 can lighting. Modern upgrade. simple to install in exhisting ceiling. Templet came with them, easy to use to get measurements of placement before cutting holes. Easy to wire, snaps in place to drywall. I will be buying more to install in my office next.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by mariepr Necessary for job but mounting clips don't lock on ceiling thicker than 5/8in
The floor joist spacing in the ceiling required this shallow clearance can. It appeared well made, and fit into the space as expected. When it came time get the clips to lock down on to the underside of the ceiling board however they would not lock down. It looks like this is designed for ceiling board 5/8" thick and the 60+year old house had thicker board. I finally used some #10 machine screws to go through the T-openings where the bottom part of the clips fit the can. Tightening the screws pushed and held the clips into the down position to hold the can in place. Necessity is often the mother of invention.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Rob good Buy!
I decided to buy this product to replace an old ugly fluorescent light that was in the kitchen, when I bought the house. After further inspection the fluorescent light was giving me problems over 2 years so I decided to replace it with a new fluorescent kit or recess lighting. I decided to go with recess lighting remodel, so I can place the recessed lights where I want them to produce more light at. The recessed lighting was easy to install, and you can place the lights where you want them, it makes a difference and looks great, giving off much more light. I know it was a good investment.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by ml Poorly engineered. Clips do not work!
Looks like I am not alone on this issue. The clips do not lock onto the drywall. I was able to get two of them to lock after hitting with a screwdriver and a hammer but the other two are loose and will probably rattle. These should be a piece of cake and easily lock in place when pushing in the clips with your hand but that is NOT the case.
To make matters worse the instructions did not include complete English instructions I figured out the screwdriver idea from what appear to be French instructions.
Not sure I trust these in my ceiling and will likely take out and replace.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by echonovember Love these
love these. worked well and updated my 1970's home. a few difficulties- as some have said on here, the retaining clips that hold the unit to the backside of the drywall are quite difficult to click into place. However, the low clearance utility and quick wire hookup(s) more than make up for this in my mind. beautiful once installed. rivets and stanchion that hold the connection box to the light housing seem of low quality. would be 5 stars with higher quality sheetmetal and easy to install clips.

The best thing U can do. Helped a bunch, especially since I had a good laugh watching my son in law fight with the clips. Just one extra tip for installing these things.
Buy a retro fit ceiling light hole saw. After using thier template and cutting along and then just outside the line we still ended up having to cut extra sheetrock to get the top of the can to fit in. Seems thier template is 1/8 in to small.
Buy the hole saw, save the elbow grease.
Otherwise a great product, will be buying another 16 for the upstairs.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Craig installation challenging due to poor design
Ceiling clips very hard to engage and keep in place, have to be very careful not to damage drywall from pushing so hard. I usually use the cheaper Utilitech lights that are easier to install but in this location needed the shallow depth lights that the other brand did not have. Very hard to get light centered in the can, had to bend adjustable brackets to get somewhat close to centered. Trim was also a pain to install because springs were to long on all trim rings I looked at, had to modify spring to make work. If you can buy the knock off brands do so, same quality construction and easier to install at a lower cost.
