CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 3.9 out of 5 by 22 reviewers.
Rated 3 out of 5 by Not compatible with Halo LED lights Bought these to go with halo LED which are supposed to be compatible - they are not. Light sat 1/4 to 3/8" proud of the housing so there's would be a gap to the ceiling. I returned them. March 5, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by 6" height is ideal for remodeling rooms with ceiling insulation and limited space. 6" depth is ideal for remodeling along with the insulation contact, IC, rating. Once you lay out your grid pattern and locate the ceiling joists, installation is easy. Electrical box contains push connectors making electrical simple once you run you wiring. The trouble with securing the 4 spring clips can be remedied by inserting a flat blade screwdriver in the upper spring slot and pry outward slightly. The clip will ceat then lock but as others said, put in at least one panhead screw to hold the spring clip. With the 310 trim ring, standard BR30 floodlights (rounded face) will protrude below the trim ring defeating the recessed lighting look. Used Sylvania, PAR30 LN Daylight Plus 75 watt bulbs to provide better quality natural light. Would like to find a shorter bulb to further conceal the bulb. LED bulbs would fit the bill but price is still too high for any quantity needed for my remodel project. Note: Push pins or masking tape will help you decide on the location of your light location. Rated 5 out of 5 by Wowee! an old-work recessed light fixture! Just what I'd been looking for Installation tip: Wire it up and just push it into place. Don't get fancy. Cut the hole in the drywall using the template, and just push the thing up through the drywall. It's that easy. No fiddling with the clips, like I tried. YOu literally just push the thing up and into place, and it stays by the tension from the clips. Also, before you try installing this thing, be sure you have enough clearance above the drywall. This is the one I found that took the least amount of clearance, and I put an LED light into it because I figured that would generate less heat. June 10, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Works good Work nice, but before you mount it, take out the clips and bend them out more, otherwise it is nearly impossible to get them to clip in place. January 1, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Friendly tip This product worked great on our remodeling job. The compact design is a big plus for the tight location it was installed. Just remember to SPREAD THE TABS just a little before placing it into its place. This will make a huge difference in the installation. If you dont you will fight those clips for hours!! We also locked the tabs in place with pan head sheet metal screws per Halo's suggestions. That really locked it all in place after that. Will be using more of these in the very near future.
