There is a similar product, #SLD606830WHR instead of SLD606930WHR. It costs $10 more and has a 80 CRI instead of 90 CRI. Ten dollars more for less accurate color rendering? I cannot find any other differences between the two in the specs. What am I missing here?
Asked by: TL
The SLD606830 is 80 CRI which is doesn't bring out the colors as good inside your home as the SLD606930 does which is 90 CRI. Also 80 CRI is not compliant with T24 regulations which require fixtures to be 90 CRI.

Watts used

How many watts or amps does one of these LEDs use? I'm trying to figure out how many I can put on a single dimmer switch.
Asked by: Jay
If you read the spec you would know that the units are 14.8w. Just click on the spec sheet link and read it.

Can this be installed in false ceiling

Asked by: Grant
Probably, but it does weigh a pound or so, so needs some support or would make the tile bow. Also would need a box for the wiring. It does come with a lightbulb base pigtail that can be directly wired and makes this a really quick solution if you have one of those buried in the ceiling...

It was very easy to install, all the parts came with the light. Now it looks like she has recessed lights, but it was so much easier to install.

My wife was complaining that the laundry room was too dark to adequately see stains as the two bulb light fixture was not bright enough with two 60 w bulbs. I was attracted to this product as it allowed me to use an existing electric box already installed in the laundry room. It was easy enough to take down the existing fixture and install the new light about 30 minutes total. After installing it looks like a can light and with it's 700 lumen it lights up the laundry. No more complaining about being dark.

I installed six disk lights on the living room ceiling with good results a few weeks ago and achieved the 15 lumens/SF recommended light level. They dim nicely with a Lutron dimmer w/ wireless remote control. Most challenging part of the installation is squeezing the 14 AWG ROMEX wires, wire nuts, AC connector, U-shaped mounting bracket, and AC/DC driver module into a 3 1/2-inch round junction box and then snapping the disk light to the bracket. I would have preferred mounting the light disk flat on the ceiling w/o a junction box and having the AC/DC driver module remotely located in a separate NEC approved junction box. Overall, installing the set of disk lights was a very satisfying project.

As a licensed electrical contractor, I thought this installation would be breeze for our team, but they proved to be challenge. If I use them again I will make sure that deep, round, cut in boxes only have a single romex in each location because the light comes with hardware that needs to go inside. Lights were dropped a couple times during our installation because of awkward attacment hardware and they didn't mate flush on a ceiling (required finishing with caulk). A group of 6 of them strobed lightly when set on high on a LED dimmer.
