Rated 4.8 out of 5 by 14 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Doing Well So Far My old toaster oven, bought when I moved into a garage apartment during my sophomore year of college, finally died after nearly 24 years of durable, dependable service. The only modification it ever got was the purchase of an under-cabinet mounting kit about 9 years ago. This one from Home Depot looked like it did well on national ratings, plus it was on sale with free shipping. Anyway, it looks spiffy enough, not too fancy, but not ugly at all. It's mainly silver & glass, though, if you're into the all-black kitchen look. We aren't that creative with our toaster oven. Pop tarts get heated, toast gets toasted, cheese quesadillas get melted. But this one is roomier than my old one. Perhaps we'll branch out a bit more. I'm happy to now be able to do 4 pieces of toast at once. 2 small concerns: I wonder if it does take a bit longer to toast, even on the lightest setting, than my old one--but then there's a larger volume to heat up. Also, there's some concern about the control pad...It's sort of a coated material, all of one piece, and it had either come partly unstuck along one edge, or it was just not firmly pressed on at the factory. In any case, I just "mashed it down real hard" (as we say here locally), and it seems to be staying stuck at this point. Anyway, we've hardly put it through its paces, but I do hope this overly wordy commentary, done in place of more useful tasks I'm putting off, might provide someone a morsel or two of useful information in making their own decision. I'm satisfied enough for the moment. August 3, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice, especially for the price It's a nice toaster oven. Full of features that cost a lot more on other brands, and honestly this one seems to work just fine. Electronic control I would rate more as a toy than a necessity, but I do enjoy the silence of the electronic timer rather than the tick-tick-tick of our old "analog" model. It takes a bit of getting used to -- somehow not quite as intuitive as setting and running a microwave. The limitation of 25 degree increments on the electronic controls is a bit weird, but I can't say that it will prevent me from cooking just fine. It will be handy to have the built-in temperature probe, but haven't had a reason to use it yet. February 12, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by I've pretty much stopped using my built in kitchen oven. I first learned about this portable oven on the PBS Test Kitchen show where they rated it very highly - a close second to a unit costing well over three times this unit's ninety nine dollar price. I've only had a chance to use it four times, toasting English muffins, baking french fries, roasting cross rib beef, and baking pizza using the convection oven feature. All of these worked out very well. I used the built in meat probe thermometer with the cross rib roast and it was done to perfection. I am very satisfied with this Hamilton Beach Set and Forget oven. It is a really good value for the money. March 5, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great alternative to big oven. I was looking for a new toaster oven, and this model was well rated by America's Test Kitchen for performance, features, and value. I agree. Its capacity is impressive. It turned out perfect pumpkin bread with no apparent hot spots. The initial learning curve issue I had was that the time display was showing minutes - not seconds which I am accustomed to with my microwave. Too bad it is not available to see in store before you order online. October 30, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Large, Well Though Out Product Another product tops in its category in Consumer Reports. At $90, it was also much cheaper than the $200+ Breville toaster oven which lead the category. All digital operation with a multitude of cooking options so be sure to keep the manual handy for reference. A built-in temperature probe is even included which is stored behind a small access door! They thought of everything! I've only had the unit for a few months but it toasts and bakes very evenly and thoroughly. We mostly use it for toast and bagels but I have used the convection feature to cook chicken and frozen foods and it does the job well. Some of the buttons feel like they stick a bit after they "click" when you press them but they pop back out and I haven't had any operational issues with them thus far. Overall, a great value and quality product loaded with features. July 23, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great product like it says, set it & forget it! with the probe, food comes out perfectly done! Everything works as intended. The only small complaint I have is that when it shuts off, the "beep" is very 'soft', to hear, but hey, that's better than a super loud sound, like e set of air horns. April 15, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by This product has excellent features! Since I've ordered this convection oven, I've used the convection bake setting, the regular bake setting, the toast setting, and the timing functions. This is my first convection oven and th e convection setting cooks and bakes wonderfully! The toast setting toasts bagels nicely on the medium setting and toasts bread nicely on the light setting. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great features Small size on the counter, big room inside. Holds plates for warming. Toaster function works well. Timer is smart -- shuts off when done. Very pleased with it. May 6, 2014
