I have chosen to keep cold and hot cups in the storage area for convenience, I like that it is just a handy storage are for us and our guests. We haven't had a bad watter experience., AND I hope we don't! Our plan has been to "purify" our tap water using several styles of purification, and then fill bottles and use them in/on our Hamilton Beach Dispenser. Is working well for us so far. gal. bottle of bad tasting water would be to run it through the dispenser and get rid of it, clean the dispenser well, the directions for cleaning are in the owners manual, and use a new bottle. Sure have enjoyed the dispenser in our dining room! Read Less

Answer:
1. One switch is for heating, the other is for cooling. They work independently from each other, so the choice is yours.
2. Bottom cabinet is not refrigerated. Storage only.
3. Try running diluted vinegar solution through the unit. Directions are in the user manual. It worked for me.

do you have to pull the entire cap off the new bottle when loading it or does this machine have the feature that punctures the top of the bottle (you just have to pull the center sticker off the new bottle) when loading?

Answer:
We bought ours about 2 weeks ago and have used several different bottles and cups, hot and cold, with no problems. The BIG cups we fill with HOT water, I try to be very careful to hit the opening but it really is no problem, just me being extra careful.

According to the user's manual, the dispenser is designer to accept any standard 3,4 or 5 gallon bottle. I have used several different types of bottles (Polar, Primo, Crystal Springs) and they all have worked.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A good water dispenser, we are pleased with it. So far so good. I have had this water dispenser for about a month now and we haven't experienced any problems. I like that it is small, I also like the separate hot and water power switches in the back. We haven't really used the little cabinet for anything yet, but, my daughter might start storing her teas in it. I really like the 90 day return on this. Hopefully we wont need to use it, but, I am keeping my box and receipts for just in case. Other than all that, we are happy with it and it works well.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from worst purchase ever we ordered this cooler on line and it was delivered in the right amount of time.......once we plugged it in the headache began. we ran water thru it to rinse it out. we put a water bottle on and hoped to enjoy our water. there is a horrible taste that we cannot get rid of. we tried bleach. we tried vinegar. we made countless calls to customer service. we wasted gallons of water trying to rinse this thing out. I don't know what the heck this horrible taste is coming from but we cannot get rid of it. finally the company says they are sending a new one. I sure hope we dont have the same problem. DO NOT BUY THIS WATER COOLER

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Could be better Purchased the same machine twice. The first time it malfunctioned it was my fault I didn't read the directions and plugged it in prior to loading the water. (BIG MISTAKE). Ruined the machine and I smelled burning plastic. The second machine works OK. The hot water is instantaneous which I love for my tea. The cold water does not get very cold. Slightly colder than room temp but not as cold as the fridge. After about 65 days water began to leak from the bottom onto the floor causing a big mess.I was able to return it but a bit disappointed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Product... I wanted another water dispenser other than Primo brand. The product arrived fast, we have no issues with taking it out of the box and set-up. I love the extra storage space under the dispenser. There is a slight noise when the water is heating up, however it doesn't bother us. The price was great. I would recommend.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Bad taste for the first 5 gals For the first 5gal Jug it tasted terrible, don't know what chemicals and or reason for this would be but darn, had to run about a whole 5 gallon jug through it before it tasted even remotely like bottled water. Not impressed at first but I guess it'll get better I hope. Price was good. I think they should flush them better before sending them out REALLY!
