Customer Questions & Answers

can the shades for the frosted amber glass light and the frost blue glass light be interchanged?

I have the frosted amber glass pendant lights in my house, but that does not go with my color scheme so I wanted to change the shade to either the gold or red. Can the shades be exchanged like that?
Asked by: Mickie
Hi Mickie, I contacted Hampton Bay to get you an answer. Hampton Bay stated that unfortunately the pendant are not interchangeable.

Customer Reviews

1-Light Brushed Steel Hanging Pendant with Frosted Amber Glass is rated 1.6 out of 5 by 10.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Ask questions first... Nice light, looks great in the kitchen. But I would recommend before buying it to make sure your Home Depot carries replacement bulbs for it. Mine does not. The 10,000 hour halogen bulb went after three months of summer use (long days, hardly on at all). I will say, local HD management was very accomodating in my quest for a new bulb. Will write my next review 10,000 hours or less from now.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Beautiful light ... BUT!! These are really beautiful. I put 3 over my kitchen sink & love the quality of light emitted. However, the sockets are such poor quality they won't hold the bulbs. Bulbs cost $5 - $6 (bi-pin), are fragile & you have to push so hard to make them stay in place (and even that's not a sure thing) that the pins bend & break before you can find the right way to make them stay. It's really a shame, but these are horrible quality. And I have 3 - will have to replace the whole system with better quality lights with easy to change bulbs.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Homeowner While these pendant lights are attractive and affordable they are very poorly constructed. Try finding replacement bulbs through Home Depot. What a joke. Then after replacing the bulb on one of the lamps for the third time I droped the bulb cover (my fault) I found the socket to be shot. Don't waste your money. Start with a higher quality more expensive fixture and save money in the long run. Trust me this is the worst.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Junk, don't even bother I have 3 of these, and I'm on my third replacement. The transformers in these are no good, causing the lights to flicker, turn off and on randomly and sometimes not work at all. Find another light.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice Light Really like the look of these lights over the bed, however, you might want to install a dimmer as they are quite bright. Also one of the ones we ordered broke shortly afer installation as the bulb won't stay in and keeps falling out. I still really like the lights and will get another.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Quality Good looking product. Bad quality. Tranformers burn out quickly & bulbs tend to burn out due to the loose connection. Not worth the money. Cost me twice for an electrician.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very poor quality These lights are very poor quality. We bought 4. One transformer failed within a week, another failed in 2 months. took them all back. In this case cheap price= poor quality.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Cheap quality of construction I have the same problems that most others have. Seems like fairly common. 1. The bulb seems to be spring loaded inside the socket. The spring becomes weak and the socket doesn't hold the bulb tight anymore. There is a loose contact and the good bulb doesn't glow. It's almost impossible to replace just the socket. 2. The bulbs were hard to get locally. I found some on e-bay and Amazon.
