Answer:
CW is correct. It is actually the wall sconce which belongs to the 'Antler' light series; however, it also goes very well with the 'Lodge' light series as well. My entire home lighting motif (sans the bathroom) is a mixture of the 'Antler and 'Lodge' series.

Good question. I think they are supposed to mimic art made with antlers.

Beats me. Sure isn't in the silhouette design or part of the fixture's materials. Good question. I suppose it's "marketing fluff."

Answer:
Yes, I am currently using a standard base dimmable (Omni A-Lamp 10W – 3000K – 800 lumens Warm White) LED bulb which replicates the old incandescent lighting environment of days past, yet due to its LED technology, this bulb should outlast me...heh...heh – for twenty-three years.

Answer:
I wouldn't unless it's protected from driving rain or water from the top. It's completely open on top, so water could hit a hot bulb or seep into the socket. Other than that I see no difference in construction over other exterior lighting. If it were me, I wouldn't do it unless it's on a porch or covered deck where only moisture would be an issue.

Answer:
This sconce is UL listed for damp locations which means it can be installed in the open, but needs to be protected from the top. No rain, snow, etc... can directly fall into the top of the fixture.

Answer:
Yes, top and bottom are open. Brightness is in the eye of the beholder. We have it mounted next to a powder room vanity. Bright enough to brush your teeth or use the facility. Don't know if it's bright enough to shave or do make-up (have to check with my wife on the make-up part).

1-Light Natural Antler Sconce is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 41.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from 1-Light Natural Antler (Pine/Fir Tree) Wall Sconce (Model # 17190) After seven years, I had finally decided to commit to change all of the light fixtures throughout my mountain cabin. Though the ‘high-end’ light fixtures previously installed by the former homeowner were very nice, they were just not appropriate for my rustic decor. I did, however, use one of the brushed nickel 3-light fixtures to replace the old one in my bathroom which hadn’t been previously replaced for some unknown reason. That fixture looks great there. Why the manufacturer designates this wall sconce solely as part of the ‘Antler’ series is beyond me, as the heavy antique copper metal sculptured frame (with heavy tinted glass face/shade) actually depicts pine/fir trees; therefore, this wall sconce also fits perfectly with the ‘Lodge’ lamp series as well. BTW, my lighting decor is a mixture of the ‘Antler’ and ‘Lodge’ series – wall lights, wall sconce, hanging lamps, and ceiling fan. All fixtures (sans the ceiling fan) have standard base dimmable (Omni A-Lamp 10W – 3000K – 800 lumens Warm White) LED bulbs which replicate the old incandescent lighting environment of days past, yet due to their LED technology, these bulbs should outlast me...heh...heh – for twenty-three years. I bought this wall sconce to replace the brushed nickel single-light wall fixture in my hallway. I was surprised to see that this new fixture was much larger and much better constructed than what I had expected to receive for the price I had paid for it. This great looking sconce looks exactly as it does in the provided photos. I too added a low wattage bulb, since most sconces are only meant to be used as accent lighting and a bright light is not required for my hallway. This light arrived quickly and undamaged (with all of the other lamps I had ordered) and installation was simple enough. Removing the former single-light fixture was actually much tougher than installing this new one. Fortunately, I have medium-sized hands, so ‘shoving’ my hand down into the center of the lamp to affix the interior knurled nut to the wall bracket’s threaded post was easy enough for me; however, those with larger hands will no doubt have a much tougher time doing so. Though I am not an electrician myself, adding this hardwired sconce to the existing wall wiring was simple enough for me, as all required installation hardware (except for the standard base light bulb) comes provided. Though I did not need the installation instructions, the one provided does appear to be comprehensive enough for those whom might be a bit timid r/e installation. For those whom still might still be a bit leery, then I’d recommend utilizing a licensed electrical contractor to ensure that the work has been done properly...cheers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice addition above the fireplace We needed a rustic accent on either side of a mirror above our fireplace mantel. These filled the bill and are much better priced than other fixtures with the same theme. There was no wiring in the location and no way to run it, so we gutted the 110V socket and attached some solar powered deck light fixtures with velcro. If your location is bright enough, you might be able to leave them in full time. Great value for the money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great quality and looks for price Great quality for the price and looks very nice in the room. Had it professionally installed so not sure if it would have been easy but on all other characteristics it was great. Not very bright but I was hoping for that result

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Pretty, but not very bright - mainly a accent light The bedrooms in my cabin only have a single wall sconce for lighting. I was hoping with a bright bulb, I could use this as the primary source of light. However, even getting a super bright LED (much brighter than a 100 watt incandescent), it still wasn't bright enough. This light is about a foot all, so I was able to modify it to take a second bulb (that points downward). I put two 100 watt equivalent CFLs and it now does a pretty good job lighting the bedrooms. So, I'd only recommend as an accent light, or, if you are handy, it's not too difficult to add a second bulb.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very nice fixture and lighting - especially for rustic soft light applications This is a very nice product and one I'd recommend to friends and family. I gave it Excellent ratings across the board, except installation. Takes a pretty small hand to reach up and connect the sconce's rear base to the box's cross-bar. Changing the light bulb won't be much fun for someone with big hands either, but appearance wise it is really nice, particularly if you want soft/warm light. This was used in a small powder room and throws off the perfect amount of light with a 40W equivalent bulb. I wouldn't try to use it alone to make a room of any size really bright, which is what I was trying to avoid anyway. The coloration of the lens and the scenery metal-work is awesome. We love it.
