Rated 2 out of 5 by Cheaply Made In China....... I purchased four of these lights, three out front and one for the backyard/patio. I've had them for about one year. Upon trying to install a replacement CFL bulb the opening is small the fragile plastic diffuser shattered. Very flimsy. I had the same experience with one of the lights in the front of the house. In addition the CFL bulbs do not fair well with a light sensor. At dusk/sunrise they flicker rapidly and fail after a short time. To replace the diffuser I bought another light as no spare parts are available. I am in process of looking for replacements. Hopefully I can find suitable fixtures made in the USA. July 29, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Inexpensive photo cell lamp This lamp is exactly what I expected. The light sensor works great and the build quality is better than I expected for the price point. The lamps came with a bulb thank goodness as they are a pin style mount I have never seen, but found replacements for when the need arises. The installation hardware is lacking though. The instructions assume you will offset the mounting bracket between the lamp and wall mount in an "x" shape pattern. This was not the case for my house I had to install the mounting bracket horizontally to fit my wall mount and the included mounting bolts are too long to be used in this configuration. A quick trip to a local hardware store for shorter screws solved the issue. Overall for the price and a photo-cell I'm happy. December 31, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Affordable and Looks Great I really like this outdoor light. It looks really classy when installed against a brick surface. Installation was a breeze too! These are super simple to put in and despite the light sensing technology, it wires just like any other light. The only complaint I have is the quality of the materials. The "glass" is actually plastic, so we will have to see how it holds up over time in the Texas heat. For the price though, this is a great buy and can update the curb appeal on your home for a very small price. May 8, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by absolutely the worst I bought 8 of these at HD, 2 years ago. First, this light uses the 2-pin `eco bulb', not the simple screw in cfl. The bulbs lasted a total of 8 months for all of them. So I bought 8 more at 7.99 a pop. Those ALL burned out by 4 months! That's hardly economical. It is not the sensors, it is the so called eco-bulbs. now have 8 fixtures that I will not shell out to light for 4 months. Instead of payinng more in bulbs than I paid for the fixtures, I am installing the inexpensive LED's with a timer switch. August 18, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Nice look, good value, not so great quality I picked this from my local HD, and installed it somewhat easily. Like the look of it as well. In my case, I installed it in the front of my house, by the front porch. Because its top is covered, its own light reflects, triggering the photocell to turn it off and on, causing strobes. In the end, I put couple layers of clear tape on top of photocell, and it worked through the night without strobes. I wish there was some sensitivity adjustment of the photocell, it would have been perfect, but then perhaps it wouldn't have been for the price it is at. Anyway, I think if you are putting it on a wall with nothing above it, it will work perfectly. Otherwise, I will be cautious about it. December 30, 2012
