I like the look of this light, but want a dusk to dawn light. Any reason I wouldn't be able to add a dusk to dawn sensor to this light fixture? (I am handy and comfortable with electricity)

Answer:
Hello jen, I’m Chris from the Home Depot’s how-to Community. Thank you for your question.
The cage comes off by removing two screws, and the shade then just twists off, exposing the light bulb.
I hope this helps,
Chris.

Rated 3.6 out of 5 by 12 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Loved the look, quality was bad We bought these because the look was what we wanted. They arrived, and looked great. However, it seems the parts are not manufactured consistently. The glass shade has threading that does not fit into the cover. While attempting to screw the first one in, it shattered in my hand. I checked several others in the order of 8, and none of the glass fit into the cover... Sadly, I will need to return these to the store. January 15, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Decent looking but too soon to tell how it will hold up, some install concerns I'm happy with the product. Reasonably sturdy and attractive. Like the dark skys design, all the light is directed downward. Pretty quick delivery as I recall. Do have a couple of concerns to make you aware of: 1. Changing the light bulb will be a challenge because the glass globe and metal frame are attached to the underside of the upper section by 2 tiny phillips head screws. Will need to be very careful not to lose and may require three hands for the less dexterous. Use a LED and maybe you'll never have to deal with it after installing. 2. The wall cover is about 6" in diameter. Nothing but a hollow disk- no piece that mounts flush with the wall. If you have clapboard or cheap aluminum siding like me it spans parts of three sections, leaving large gaps as it only touches the protruding bottoms of two of the sections. You will need a lot of caulk to fill the gaps- which doesn't look great. Buy brown caulk before you start. Also consider filling the inside of the cover with insulation or a disk of Styrofoam (cut from the packaging) for insulation, keep insects from nesting in the void, and to provide something for the caulk to adhere to on the inside. 3, Glass is full of small bubbles for an antique effect I could do without. 4. Because of the way my siding lies, the lamp tilts back toward the house a little. Not possible to adjust the front to back hang angle because the arm is stiff pipe. Can rotate from side to side if don't get it hung evenly. December 10, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not what I expected The bronze color looks very cheap. They sent a different base which is much larger than the one in the photo. Not impressive and will be returning it. January 15, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice fixture I have 3 more of these and needed another to add to the back porch. Looks great. The bulbs are somewhat dim, but that is likely the point when using Edison bulbs. Very nice for the price. October 6, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice outdoor lights. This OUTDOOR OIL RUBBED BRONZE WALL LANTERN is a great value for the price. I mounted two (2) on the side of my garage and they look terrific. Easy installation even though I had to run an electrical line inside the garage. Basically no assembly required other then inserting the bulb. The 40w bulbs (not included) provide just the right amount of light for night time entertaining. August 26, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by 2 out of 3 ordered had manufacturing defects The holes and screws that attached the cage did not line up on one light and another light's cage was crocked. August 8, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love it! This is a very nice wall lantern/light. We installed it on the man door. Looks wonderful! I'm happy with the other matching lights I purchased: One for the front porch and the other for the back patio area. I've seen lights like this in expensive magazines so I feel blessed that I got a great deal and it looks great! January 6, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Looks good, but has some issues Lights look great and overall seem well made. However, the mounting hardware is flimsy especially considering the weight of the light assembly. Additionally, hardware was missing from both of the lights I ordered. I had to go into the local homedepot and scrounge around until I could find nuts that would replace the missing ones. Finally, the glass bulb covers were different between the two identical light I ordered, one of them fight the light bulbs I wanted to use but the other one did not.... not the greatest manufacturing tolerances.
