I would give this product zero stars if I could. The instructions are terrible. Other than other reviews there is no place to tell that you cannot install this product in an existing ceiling space. Yes you can take the entire product apart and possibly get it in there, but I do not want a product like that. Fans break, this fan would be nearly impossible to replace down the road. Access is required above and below to get this fan in. Do yourself a favor, don't buy it or go return it. A piece of a junk. I am by no means an electrician or GC, but I have remodeled numerous houses on my own, and this is the only time I've come across such a bad exhaust fan.

Powerful and quiet -- I wanted clear mirrors when done showering and it does that. for sure! I bought two as I wanted to change out another bathroom fan as well. My bathrooms are maybe 6x10 and this fan will pull air under the door from other areas (and will pull the bathroom door shut if it is closed but not latched.) This is still good, but in winter it also is pulling heat from other part of house to then vent it outside.
Also, the vent has a 6" vent outlet -- I fought that a little during my installation and had to buy a reducer to get to attach to my 4" wall vent .

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by KevinE Very Difficult to install
I agree with other comments. Here are the issues I saw: 1) This is designed for new construction. Instructions state the flanges are to be anchored to bottom of joists. 2. You can't pop it into a pre-cut hole from below because of the exhaust opening and wiring box. 3. You will need to cut a gap between drywall and joist to slide the flange under the joist. 4. The "D" bracket won't allow you to flush mount against a joist. 5. "D" bracket is designed for a 6" joist. 6. All wire labels are designed to be read from below, not an attic. 7. The wood screws they provide are junk. Use your own drywall or decking screws.

Purchased unit because it met our CFM's and noise requirements however, installation was complicated because exhaust from fan is 6 inches and had to install an adapter to reduce to 4 inches wish is the standard size for ducting.

The price was fair, The 110 cfm fan is quiet and easy enough to install.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by ToughtoPlease Quiet but very poor design
This fan is quiet, works well. I do have to agree that it is designed for new construction. Have fun trying to take it back out to change it if it stops working. What's with the six inch hole, hope I never have to go back to 4". Electrically it was easy to install.
I would definitely look at a different product if your looking to buy one. I would have taken it back if it wasn't such a timely trip to get to the store.
Also, spring clips were attached that will not hold light and trim. Nothing about them in the instructions.
