Yes ,there are three (3) locking wheels on the base. You will not have to run after it, besides the fact that it weighs over 100 lbs, it will stay put.

This is one of the best items since sliced bread.
It is very heavy, so the kids cannot move it around.
It does have a locking mechanism, but even if it didn't.....it isn't going anyplace easily.
ONE WISH: I wish it had a higher insertion pole.
Making the umbrella higher.
Measure the height of your patio table umbrella because it might not be high enough.

15 FEET IS A PRETTY TALL POLE.

BEND OR BREAK IN HIGH WINDS.

I don't think anything this size would hold up in a strong wind. Although the base is heavy, I think it is too small to stay upright on a windy day. I would plant the flagpole in the ground.

Very unlikely. The wheels are quite small, and the unit weighs over 110 lbs without the umbrella. i am sure the wheels will sink into the ground. It is heavy enough to be cumbersome to move on flat concrete, it would probably be impossible on grass.

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.2 out of 5 by 300 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by heavy duty patio umbrella base I went ahead to order after customers reviews that was only negative on about the stand arriving damaged. Sure enough I got it some chips from shipping to my home due to my car was small & not good to carry heavy item. I had it fixing & spray painted black that looked fine. I decided to keep it. The base is heavy & very durable to move it around. Plus with locked casters. The base had 2 grab bars to pull up to move it around. I could move it around by myself OK. Very worth to have it. I plan to order me another one. August 20, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent stand! This stand is perfect for windy areas and is affordable, well made, easy to move and aesthetically pleasing. We can now enjoy our deck again without wrestling with our umbrella or worrying that it will topple over because of a light breeze or gust of wind. We are very pleased and highly recommend it! Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Deliver to Store & check carefully I am SO GLAD I read the reviews! It IS cement and the edges CHIP very easily!! Mine only had very little chipping I glued & repainted. Have delivered TO the STORE . Un-box there and inspect! EXCELLENT stand. I am THRILLED. I did have a bit of chipping I glued then repainted. But this is a GREAT stand to hold an umbrella that stands ALONE. on a patio. I doubt it is meant to be rolled about on a daily basis all over, but for occasional relocation it seems to be fine. Not a toy for the kids to ride. I am really happy with this purchase. Next year I DO plan on purchasing another stand alone umbrella and I WILL buy this stand for SURE! August 16, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Heavy! Needed something for my offset umbrella that came with a t-stand. It had different size adaptors which came in handy. I needed the 2" opening which was hard to find. We had to take the umbrella pole out of the T- stand that it came with which left it shorter than it should have been ( difficult to describe), so we had to put the umbrella pole in into this base as little as possible to get a good height. It did tip over because the center of gravity was off a bit, but I'm just going to put some weights onto ir Easy to put together, arrived in perfect condition- no chipping. Love that it's on wheels. Highly recommend this! August 16, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great but broken Really like the base. The price was very reasonable. It is very heavy yet rolls well. It looks really nice and like it cost a lot more. It was easy to assemble. But it arrived broken, with a chunk of concrete missing on the side. The box was in disastrous shape. It seemed way too much trouble however to have it sent back. So I just painted the missing part black. This base is so heavy that many arrive broken but it would have been impossible for me to pick one up from Hone Depot. I could barely flip it to assemble it. Once it was on wheels, it was very easy to move to the deck. August 16, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Umbrella Base(not available in store) Great product but unfortunately only available online and evidently impossible to receive intact and unmarked. Upon My first attempt at ordering this, I had it sent to my local Home Depot- upon getting it home it was discovered that the unit that actually holds the umbrella(the pipe) was crushed. I returned it to Home Depot and ordered again online- this time to be delivered at home. Upon receiving it, the pipe was intact this time, but the base was quite chipped. I kept it out of frustration. I am very pleased with it though very dissatisfied with the handling. August 9, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Awesome Base Stand! After reading many reviews complaining about the stand arriving damaged, I decided to have it delivered at the store. I had them to open the box before I took it home. It was in perfect condition. I believe the stands are damage by the delivery company (UPS) due to the fact it is so heavy. I used a dolly to load and remove the stand from my vehicle. It was a challenge moving it in place however, it was well worth it and it does a fantastic job. August 17, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by It does its job! It is heavy! Make no mistake about it. My husband had to pick it up from the store because I believe it weighs something like 70 lbs. This thing is not moving anywhere unless you roll it, and that is what I love about it. It rolls easily across our stamped concrete. I love the two "dials" that hold the umbrella in place-- very well thought out. The only thing that is wrong is that the plastic that goes around the concrete can chip off and has. I suppose I can just paint over that part like some of the other reviewers have done. I guess it didn't bother me that much because I bought another one. August 2, 2016
