installing over the porch area

Is it possible to assemble on porch or it should be only on the ground?
Asked by: Homa
I suppose you could but I would bolt it down to the porch. We have ours installed on the corner of a very large patio so we have nylon cording and rods into the ground about 2-3' on three sides and concrete square stepping stones anchoring the fourth corner.

12 ft. x 12 ft. Harbor Gazebo is rated 3.4 out of 5 by 282.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not Ohio winter proof Gorgeous gazebo. Takes minimum of 2 to put up. Super sturdy when anchored to a deck. I custom installed a ceiling fan an LED system. The gazebo did not shake at all with the fan. That is sturdy. Not sturdy enough to withstand a winter squall. So good I bought a 2nd. Take the canvas off for the winter.

During a thunderstorm, the fabric ripped where it attaches to the metal frame. We had to take it and have the straps reinforced. During the winter of 2016, a snow storm completely bent the roof supports rendering this gazebo unusable. While we loved the look of this gazebo, it was not sturdy to withstand normal weather conditions. I would not purchase this item again.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Did not last one year This was very easy to assemble. We opted to secure the frame to our cement patio with concrete screws and this worked exceptionally well. However after 9 months, the smaller top portion of the canopy frame came undone and cannot be welded. Also, one of the corner frames dropped a stablizing bar at the bottom that cannot be welded. The canopy itself came apart at the corners where it secures to the corner of the frame. The canopy also ripped along each of the sides near the bottom after 9 months and is already dry rotted. If the product would have held up, it would have been fantastic and we enjoyed it while it lasted. But in my opinion, it should have at the very least, lasted a year.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from save your money I am writing this even though I know it may not be seen by customers. There are several problems with some of the welds of the metal parts they rust and brake off. The worst part of it is the fabric. I have gone through three tops because they start to tare and then rip to pieces. The manufacturer gave me two replacement tops and then told me they would no longer honor the guarantee. I tried to work with Toni Stenson of Home Depot but she would only give me in store credit. There is a third company that knows of the problem and has a top to fix the problem and I wanted Home Depot to give me my money back and I would purchase the good top.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Value With a bit of fiddling, this was assembled in 2 hours by 1 person ( unpacking / unwrapping / removing labels is 30 minutes worth of effort ). The parts were labeled well & the instructions were pretty good. Having a screw gun & sockets will speed up assembly over the supplied "tools". It's definitely a light-duty structure, but with some care it should last many seasons. Overall, it performs quite well - keeps 95% of the bugs out, vents nicely at the top, & provides adequate protection from rain (if it's not blowing too hard). I don't think you can find anything better at this very low price point.

This gazebo is easy to assemble and we have enjoyed ours for several years. We live in cold climate with lots of snow so we take the cover, curtains and screens off for the winter. We have it anchored down with nylon wire attached to a rod about 2 feet into the ground on three sides. We had replaced the top after a terrible storm. Will buy a new one for the condo we are moving to soon if the association allows. We hung a chandelier from the center hook and it looks beautiful at night for dinner parties.

I'm writing this review now because ,I've had this canopy for two years this would be the third summer of it being up. Well last summer I noticed a few small holes near each gromet. I didn't think to much of it till we had a very bad wind storm. Now I do live in a very open area and it is on my upper deck which we secured to the deck and take it down when the season ends just for that very reason ,well to say the least the last bad storm came and it ripped the top canopy to shreds. I'm not happy that I need to replace it or the material could not withstand a wind storm or two. The corners that slip into the rails are not deep enough . Believe me it's a beautiful canopy and I love the way it looks, but the material is to thin to withstand a long time I don't want to have to replace this canopy every few years . The manufacturer needs to make the canopy THICKER .
