Answer:
The connection power wire from the solar panel to the rope light is about 12' - 15'. I have yet to do an exact measurement, but I can state that wire is about as long as the rope light itself.

Answer:
Thank you for your question. The lights turn on/off via a photo eye sensor, so there is no way to turn them off when it is dark outside. The only way to do so would be to disconnect the wire, or remove the battery from the solar panel.

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.4 out of 5 by 14 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Rope Lights These lights performed beyond my expectations. I installed two sets on the underside of an outdoor pergola on my patio. I mounted the solar panels aimed towards the general direction of the sun's path on the top of the pergola. They come on automatically at dusk, and stay lit for several hours. They provide just enough light to see where to sit and people's faces. August 30, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Light output great, quality not great. The solar lights provided great light for two days. The third day the solar panel separated from the cord and would no longer work. Very disappointed. August 10, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Solar LED lights: great product! These solar rope lights are incredibly simple to install. Some solar LED lights are very dim but these lights provide nice illumination (you can choose if they are steady of blinking) and give great ambience to a patio. If the charging panel is placed in a sunny location, the lights last until dawn. These lights are an improvement over the same brand's style from 2-3 years ago. I bought two of the older style in past years and they still work quite well. I was pleasantly surprised by the larger charging panel of the newer model--the lights are a bit brighter and the charge definitely lasts longer. June 28, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Solar Rope LED Lights! These rope solar LED lights are so bright! I had some in the past that were not LED and these are much brighter. We have them around our deck and they look great. July 5, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Work great, very bright I used these for outdoor lights, work great, only have had the, for about a month, not sure how long they will last. December 29, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Works good No complaints with this product. The only reason I gave it 4 stars was because it isn't AS bright as I would have liked but it is a good little product and is bright enough for my walkway where it was installed. December 8, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Battery Does Not Last All Night 3 Hrs and quits This would be the best lights if the battery simply held up for 8hrs and did not go dead in 3 hours. I bought these lights to light up a moveable chicken coop. The first 2 weeks were great and no complaints, but it has been 4 weeks and now the battery will only last 3 hrs. Now I find myself looking for a better battery for this unit. November 15, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good product and works very well. My wife and I love this product. It works very well. September 29, 2015
