I've purchase three runs of the LED white lights which were put behind the crown moulding in my garage. After a month, one of the sections had a 3 foot area that had a bad diode or something and refused to light up with the rest of the run. So I removed the crown moulding (a major pain) and replaced the 18 foot run with a new one. After two hours it burned out in the exact same area. I'm guessing a manufacturing error. Thanks Hampton Bay, now that I have the crown moulding nailed back into place. I'm not doing this again and throwing away another 100.00

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by steveo Bright, but not warm
I bought and installed this 18' and a 13.5' one, at some significant effort.....and the 18' is a blue white and the 13.5 one is a very warm white. Probably about 4000k and 2700k respectively. They look Really Bad next to each other - the blue light come across as really harsh and weaker. So...I will have to buy 2 more 13.5's and use them and bury the extra length.
I will update if they do not last - I have only had them installed a couple of weeks of light use so far.
Other than that, both are very bright - the clips are better than the old ones from a few years ago. But get the 1/2 plastic straps used in electrical work to add to these. They are more secure and only about a $1.50 for a bag of them. Hamptons extra clips are rediculously priced and really bad quality.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by ForMyGirl Lots of light for 32watts.
Cons: These cost more by the foot and are not the same color as the incandescant rope lights that I replaced.
Pros: They draw less energy (32 watts compared to 54) and put out a lot less heat. They appear to be as bright as the incandescants - they are just a different color.
They work well on motion sensors or photocells - but dim rather than go off if used on a touch control (I was going to use them in my desk hutch rather than the existing Halogens - but the touch control wired to the door hinge would not turn them off). I use one as night lights along the baseboards for my daughter. We had night lights in every outlet in her room, my room, the hall and the loft. Now we just have one to light the way through the hall and the loft - and she likes it a lot better. I have another on a motion sensor to light the closet under the stairs where my daughter stores her toys.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by csks It would have been so much better...
I ordered 4 sets of rope lighting. All were to be soft warm color. instead I was sent 1/2 cool and half warm. They give us the light, but the look is less than optimal. We are making the best of it as who has time to return 1/2 the lights; wait for the correct ones and then find time to re-install them. Instead we will always have a reminder...

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by KevinMcQ Just "OK:"
Picked these up to replace a 3 +/- year old set of incandescent rope lights that were failing in groups at a time. They were fairly easy to install, except for not having nearly enough clips. Mine had 9 clips, which sounds like enough, until you make a corner. I will need to "find" at least 6 more to keep the rope from sagging. It appears that HD does not sell just these clips, which are larger that the ones for the incandescent rope. The light themselves are "OK". No where close to the warm color of the incandescents they replaced. I expected that a little, but the difference is quite stark. The price was pretty steep too. Nearly $50. I will not be taking them out and returning them though. I am supplementing them with some xenon light bars from GE. They put out a very warm light, like halogen, but the bulbs have lasted for years(still on the original ones). If I had to do it over... I would but, I would wait for them to go on sale first. Good luck.

I was looking to add some led lights under the eaves around my house. I stopped in to my local store in Washington and found these led rope lights. They were easy to install. The neighbors all have comlimented me and asked me where to buy them.. Home Depot of course!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by rodney Did the job but the led lighting is too blue/cold
We used the rope lighting tucked behind our crown molding in the dining room. It works great but the led lighting is too blue for a dining area.
