Customer Questions & Answers

can this light be set for on/off or is it just motion-operated?

Asked by: sly311
Yes, it has a dusk to dawn setting, which doesn't require motion for the lamp to be on.

Our lite was working fine now nothing will go on, any tips?

I have checked everything, it is only 2 months old.
Asked by: Lady2505
It's most likely the sensor, especially if others are having the same problem. It would be possible, but difficult to fix this. Just return it for an exchange or use another fixture, unfortunaltely.

I loved the look of this light but bought two and they both stopped working pretty quickly, I returned them and bought two more and they stopped working even faster. Professionally installed and all other possible reasons for failure diagnosed. Bottom line. A huge waste of time and money and still no working lights. Total failure.

After having it installed by a licensed electrician 3 months ago on our new addition, it stopped working. I regret not reading the many reviews here describing its unreliability. The light looks good, but don't be fooled. Home Depot were great, giving me a store credit for the deceased light, but the aggravation and time lost taint a large percentage of the 'goodwill' felt towards the store that I assume knows this product is sub standard, but still continues to peddle it. I replaced it with the non sensor Essen fixture. Eventually I will need to rewire with a remote sensor switch. [More work:-(].

I should have read the reviews because we've been in our house now for 2 months, and it has quit working. I called our electrician and he checked out everything and said the fixture was bad. Of course, I don't have my original receipt, just my credit card statement. I still love the look of the light, but it's not worth having if it doesn't work. I guess I'll have to pay the electrician to come back and hook up a new light, when I find another brand.

I tried twice to make it work in our application. However, the first one lasted 2 weeks before stopping to work. The second one lasted about a year and a half. This time I will replace it with something different. Too bad someone can't figure out how to create a motion sensor that lasts.

The lantern looked great and functioned properly for about a year, then it stopped working. I had an electrician over to install new lights in my kitchen and asked him take a look. When he detached the base of the lantern from the wall, the lantern literally started smoking. It had to be thrown away. I advise against buying this lantern.

I had used this lamp for dusk to dawn entrance door lighting on my new garage workshop outbuilding with LED bulb. After 10 months this lamp quit working. As an experienced electrician, I removed the cheap electronic circuitry box and installed a standard dusk to dawn photo control eye. Now this lamp is working perfectly.

Bought two of these for an entryway in one of my rental homes so no exposure to the elements. One of them has stopped working completely after about a year and the other is far from reliable in its operation. Based on these reviews I'm not expecting much more from the one that is still working.
