What a pile! Don't waste your money. Motion sensor never worked. Light only worked for a couple weeks and now the light doesn't turn on at all. We had an electrician check the wiring. We bought this in advance of construction otherwise I'd be returning it to the store.
It appears that all the motion sensor wall lanterns available seem to get bad reviews. For replacement we bought a plain wall lantern and a programmable wall switch. It's not motion activated but at least it's programmable and I don't have to depend on shoddy photo eyes and motion sensors to NOT do what they are supposed to. I wish Home Depot would just quit selling this as it's obviously junk.

Rated 1 out of 5Â by Mizzou Looks nice, but...
Bought one for side of house along driveway and I am very sorry I did. Looks great, but sensors work sparingly or not at all. It never senses day or night, and just stays on all the time. Motion sensors click on and off for no reason. Can't use the sensors at all, so I just manually switch it on when I need it. Nice look, but function is sorely lacking.

We wanted to replace our original pair of front porch lights and were looking for something with more of a vintage look. We had seen some porch lights in another neighborhood which had the wire straps in the glass that was a very nice detail. We paid extra for the version with an automatic motion detector so we could walk up to the front door at night and have them come on automatically. This feature can be quickly disabled by flipping the light switch three times in rapid succesion to cause them to turn on and off like regular porch lights.

Rated 2 out of 5Â by MichiganCustomer Malfunctioning Sensor
Two of these fixtures were purchased for the motion sensor feature. The light placed in a covered walkout area has functioned fine. The second light, featured on an upper deck, inexplicably developed a malfunctioning sensor 11 months after installation. The sensor now randomly turns on and off, which is very frustrating and disappointing, as the fixture no longer functions as an intended security light. Numerous consumer reviews indicate an evident, and unfortunate, sensor flaw with this fixture. Although the light is very attractive, I would not recommend purchase. The two purchased fixtures were intended to match, and therefore both will ultimately require replacement with a more reliable product.
