Can I order a replacement plastic.

When trying to fix an electrical issue, the cover was dropped and cracked in half. Is there anywhere to order a replacement part for this light? I don't want to have to pay my landlord the entire 100 dollars. Thank you.

Customer Reviews

2-Light Brushed Nickel Fluorescent Ceiling Oval Flushmount is rated 2.7 out of 5 by 72.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Nice light but weak ballast As noted in many other reviews, this light is attractive and provides very good light, but the electronic ballast is less reliable than expected. My first ballast failed after 9 months. Since it was not available at Home Depot locally, I ordered a replacement directly from the manufacturer - Sunpark Electronics - for $14. The second ballast failed after 5 years. Since it is inconvenient to be without the primary kitchen ceiling light for the time required to order another replacement, we decided to change the entire fixture. We selected a different design that does not depend on a key part that is easy to replace but not readily available.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exact replica of former fixture, so simple to install. Provides even, bright light. Exact replica of former fixture, so simple to install. Provides even, bright light.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very nice, ballast gave out but can be replaced Very nice light. Ballast went out after 4 years. Other reviews say you cannot get a repacement, but you can just go pick up a ballast that is for 2 T9 lights (I got a GE dual light ballast for $20), remove the old ballast by removing the screw and removing from slot, and put the new ballast in. If it doesn quite fit like mine, just drill a small hole for the screw and use a machine screw to mount the new ballast to the metal. Everything else is pretty self explanatory.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from only lasts a couple of years No, look for something better. These were in a home we purchased, with a newly remodeled kitchen. The bulbs only last for about 9 months, and now the ballasts are going out - works/doesn't work. They are between 2 and three years old. Also - not enough light. There are three fixtures in a 7x12 space with a total of 6 round fluorescent bulbs, and it never seems brightly lit. Also the bulbs are around $8, so that is $64 a year just to buy the bulbs.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Pretty fixture but parts hard to find This fixture was installed in a condo I purchased. When the ballast died, I tried in vain to replace it. Apparently the company which makes the ballast (White Horse) decided not to make them the same way. Now the leads are not long enough and there are no fittings on the end to clamp onto the circular flourescent bulb, rendering my unit useless (I included a picture of the original ballast lead fittings, but the company no longer makes them that way). I tried three different lighting specialty companies in town (the ones the contractors use) and two online lighting companies. Home Depot and Lowes didn't stock the ballast, which I don't understand. That's as bad as not selling the right sized light bulbs for the fixture. Hampton Bay needs to have a conversation with White Horse or there will be a lot of these fixtures on the shelves. I would not recommend this fixture to a friend because of the inability to purchase a replacement ballast.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from ballast died after only 3 years... We had this light only 3 years and the ballast died. We found this out by replacing bulbs and then paying an electrician $60 to diagnose. The manufacturer does not offer a replacement ballast. A ballast that MAY POSSIBLY work is $40. The electrician advised us to replace it instead which we will do ourselves. 3 years is in no way an acceptable lifespan. Don't buy this.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Piece of junk This is a pretty fixture on the outside and and piece of junk on the inside. Ballast went out on us in less than a year and now we have to pay for a new one. Our mistake is that we bought it with a gift card and didn't keep the receipt ... how dare we trust that such an expensive light fixture is going to go out in less than a year !!! what were we thinking??? be carefull if you buy this Hampton Bay item.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Looks Nice This light looks nice, but the ballast doesn't last very long. I have to replace the second one now and you cannot find the exact fit for this light. Would not recommend buying.
