We saw this light in a condo we rented while on vacation in Florida , and had to have it. I found it here at the HD , at the right price. Installation was a breeze ,and the quality and appearance are excellent. this light fits in perfect with our new stainless steel appliances . I would absolutely buy this again.

This is an attractive light fixture. I was a bit dissapointed that the diffuser is plastic instead of glass. Although the price would have been higher and the fixture much heavier. It took me about an hour total to install it myself. I replaced an older fluorescent shop type light that came with the house. This fixture puts out good clean light and replacement bulbs are readily available as well as affordable. I saw this first at a hair salon, they look great in both commercial and residential applications.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Renee Pretty fixture but parts hard to find
This fixture was installed in a condo I purchased. When the ballast died, I tried in vain to replace it. Apparently the company which makes the ballast (White Horse) decided not to make them the same way. Now the leads are not long enough and there are no fittings on the end to clamp onto the circular flourescent bulb, rendering my unit useless (I included a picture of the original ballast lead fittings, but the company no longer makes them that way).
I tried three different lighting specialty companies in town (the ones the contractors use) and two online lighting companies. Home Depot and Lowes didn't stock the ballast, which I don't understand. That's as bad as not selling the right sized light bulbs for the fixture. Hampton Bay needs to have a conversation with White Horse or there will be a lot of these fixtures on the shelves. I would not recommend this fixture to a friend because of the inability to purchase a replacement ballast.

I bought three for my home to save money on the electric bill three years ago...I have replaced the $9 lights every 6 months and now all the ballast have burnt out and they are $20+ each. So much for value, I should have bought incandescent.

Problems... Big but not bright enough for a closet ... And one connector (ballast to bulb) ended up smoking and burning out ...returned for a completely different light

I can not find the ballast for this model anywhere the one listed is too big and does not fit on the unit. You can't even drill holes to make it fit, I will not recommend this lighting to anyone, buyer be ware the ballast will go out.

No, look for something better. These were in a home we purchased, with a newly remodeled kitchen. The bulbs only last for about 9 months, and now the ballasts are going out - works/doesn't work. They are between 2 and three years old.
Also - not enough light. There are three fixtures in a 7x12 space with a total of 6 round fluorescent bulbs, and it never seems brightly lit. Also the bulbs are around $8, so that is $64 a year just to buy the bulbs.

I bought 2 of these for my family room about 8 years ago. They were pretty easy to install; I just put some plastic screw anchors into the sheet rock. The frame around the light is held up by 4 small round nuts and it took me several bulb changes to get the knack of putting it back together. The ballast on one died after about 6 years and the ballast on the other just started going bad. As others have pointed out, Home Depot does not stock replacements, but Amazon does and they don't cost must. The fixture takes 2 Circline bulbs, which are widely available.
