Answer:
I don't see why not. All of my other table or hanging lamps have LED bulbs installed without a problem. The ECO LED lights that Home Depot sells can be used with a dimmer. I haven't found this so with all LED bulbs

Answer:
Yes, just be sure to buy high quality LED bulbs because the glass is thin and will not mask the harsh light coming from the inexpensive ones. The quality of the bulb makes a huge difference.

Answer:
It's a semi-flush mount, so it's best with a 8-9ft ceiling. Depends on how tall your ladder is to change bulbs.

Answer:
No it will not work on a vaulted ceiling. The three wires that support the glass
shade have to come down at an even length to keep the shade level.

Because of the 3 supports for the glass being equal size, I don't believe you would get a good fit on an angle.

I believe it would! I don't have a vaulted ceiling but i have two of these light fixtures in our basement rec room and there is plenty of light to go around. And on top of that they look really good hanging from the ceiling, we have gotten many good comments on the way they look. Hope that helps!

How do you clean this and change the bulbs?

Love the look of this fixture and don't want to damage it.

But it could use a wash on the glass part, and inside, there's a bulb broken off in one of the sockets.

How do you access the bulbs and clean the glass safely?

Thanks, Chris! That's what I suspected might be the case (especially the part about the extra hands!) but wanted to be sure before I messed it up.

Answer:
Hello TypingandSteno, I’m Chris from the Home Depot’s how-to Community. Thank you for your question.
The glass bowl is removed by unscrewing the 3 decorative nuts on the outside that hold the bowl in place. Seems to me that I would like a 3rd or 4th hand to help with this.
Once the bowl is removed you can easily clean it and replace the light bulbs.
I hope this helps,
Chris.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Terrible quality, horrid ergonomics. It's now broken. I bought this product several years ago. Wish me luck finding the receipt to collect on the warranty. I don't exactly remember why this was a pain to install but it took a long time. So here's the problem, several years down the line. You need to change bulbs or wish to clean the shade? Those ball nuts won't unscrew. Corrosion sets in and you will have to grip both the ball nuts and the support stem. The 3 decorative ball nuts that attach to the 3 support stems to hold the glass shade in place are round. Of course the support stems are round too (tubular is more accurate) so you will need 2 pairs of pliers to undo. Have fun getting a good grip on either the stem or the nut. I first sprayed a little grease into the threads of the support stem and gave it an hour for gravity to move the grease into ball nut threads. Then I came with 2 pairs of pliers and the support stem snapped right where the threads meet the ball nut. I barely applied any pressure. Poor materials + poor design = don't buy this. No more Hampton Bay products for me, I have experienced this sort frustration with several of their products over the years and have had enough of wasting my time and energy on these lousy products. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Looks great at home too Beautiful lamp, well packaged in the box and complete. It is difficult to assemble, as the globe is suspended by three cables. Seems a bit precarious when perched on a ladder attaching the tiny round nuts to the ends of the cables while holding the globe, but it went together well, and looks very nice in the room. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Entry Light!!! Great light for my entry. Nice looking. The only problem was that to change the light bulb, one of the little nuts that you have to remove to get to the bulbs dropped and was lost! Then, the glass shade was removed until the nut could be found and that got broken. Nice thing is, I went to Home Depot and got a whole new light and just used the glass shade and the nuts-- and it was a good price to be able to buy an extra just for parts! March 31, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Nice looking; glass is a bit thin This fixture is nice looking and has a quality fit and finish. However, the glass shade is somewhat transparent, which means that you can see the bulbs from behind the glass, even when the fixture is turned off. The fixture wires are a bit thin, which means that using them with much thicker household wiring and twist connectors is a bit challenging. The thin fixture wires in combination with the household wiring aren't thick enough to really securely hold the twist connectors. November 11, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great hallway light! We bought three of these lights to install in our hallway (both downstairs and upstairs). They look great and give off a lot of light! So pleased. August 22, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Comfort and Bright This is comfortable light good for kitchen and dinning room. Not at bedroom. Thanks January 23, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Beautiful and subtle We bought two of these to replace existing ceiling lights in 8-foot ceilings, and my husband installed both by himself and had no problems wiring into existing openings. They were packaged well and were received in perfect condition. They are very attractive and should blend well in a variety of settings. November 9, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Do Not Follow The Directions in the Box This should have taken no time at all to install. But it did. Once it is up it looks great. I put it in my bedroom closet and for the first time since I moved in 3 years ago I can find what I'm looking for. I replaced a dinky fluorescent fixture that took forever to fire up and gave off a grayish light. For the price the fixture is worth it as it looks more expensive than it is. October 17, 2015
