I really don't understand all of the negative reviews...I really like these lights, and I completely disagree with them being low quality or difficult to install. I'm a capable DIY'er, but by no means am a professional, and I found these easy to install. If you get on a ladder and look at them from a few inches away, you can see the glass cover doesn't align perfectly (although I had no issues leveling any of mine), but it's not obvious from normal distances, nor is it any different than other brands of similar design that cost 3x as much. Is the quality the highest possible? Probably not...but they're easily high enough quality to install on the ceiling and never be handled again save for changing bulbs. Installation is simple and strait forward...I installed 4 of these in about an hour. They were, however, extremely hard to find...I bought two and had to wait a few months before the other two came available.

I like the style but the quality is a bit so so. I'm really not sure if I should expect better at this price point though.
I've installed a lot of light fixtures. Install was easy but it took a lot of fiddling to get it to look decent. The whole thing is surprisingly flimsy. The wire frame for the shade and glass plate need to be leveled independently and I've also never had this much trouble keeping the base of a fixture flush to the ceiling. You also have the trick of keeping it square to the room but I can't blame that on the fixture.
its not hard to make it look "good enough" but If your a perfectionist this thing will drive you crazy! Mine still needs a bit of tweaking...

We needed an updated light fixture in our kitchen and this did the trick. It is simple, modern but with a traditional flair. The lighting is very soft. We have gotten a lot of compliments on the fixture. It does look a little flimsy up close (if you are the person installing it) but from a normal distance (floor to ceiling) looks great.

I originally walked into Home Depot to buy the circular version of this light--but this one was on display right next to it and I liked it better aesthetically, so I decided on this one instead.
Installation was really straightforward. If you've ever installed any sort of light fixture, looking at the instructions for this fixture will be almost be unnecessary. It is a nice-looking light that complements a bedroom, home office or den very well because it's modern, but it has a nice soft edge to it. It's not too large or small and the shade gives a nice diffusion of light that isn't too bright or too dark. I was also pleased that the bottom of the light is actual glass and not plastic as it appeared to be upon first glance.
Now: for the cons.
After the breezy installation, the last step was to slide the washer and rubber ring on the inner nipple, and then tighten the round bottom cap on to hold it. Simple, eh? Wrong. For one, the nut on the cap was soldered on badly at the factory where it was made, so it was crooked. Second, it wasn't until I put the glass in that I noticed that the drum itself wasn't squared to the light, so there was a big gap around two of the edges. If you look at the pictures of the light it appears that the glass on the bottom touches all four sides of the shade--and it definitely doesn't. The only way to fix the gap was to hold the inner steel nipple of the fixture in one hand and push and pull the shade to bend the wire frame until the nipple was in the center--and of course, that made the light crooked. It is installed in my bedroom so no one is going to see it but my husband and I, but the perfectionist in me is screaming about the slight to not-so-slight asymmetry. I haven't decided yet if I am going to take it down and exchange it; it depends on how much it bothers me. I will live with it for a couple of days and see.
All that being said, for the price and aesthetics, I'd still recommend purchasing the light. The version I got may not be indicative of the one you'll get, so yours may have no problems at all.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0Â by BuckheadGuy DO NOT BUY!
Absolutely do NOT buy this fixture. It LOOKS great, however the quality of design is horrible. Unfortunately, I did not read other reviews until after I made this purchase, and installed the fixture. A previous review wrote about the fixtures âfitâ to the ceiling. Yes, the mounting strap must be perfectly adjusted to fit the ceiling box, but that is something a good electrician, or experienced DIY can easily accomplish. The issue is the bottom glass diffuser. There is NO WAY to keep it level with the base of the shadeâ it is a nice piece of heavy glass, supported only by a center down-rod, with NO mechanism to level. HORRIBLE DESIGN. DONâT waste your time.
