When working, it's great. But as one of the other reviewers pointed out, there's a fuse inside the plug unit that can go out. That wouldn't be so bad, except they soldered the fuse to the circuit board. Personally, desoldering/resoldering a hardwired fuse is do-able - but why do I have to get out my soldering iron just to change a fuse? I replaced the entire unit last year (because I didn't know about the fuse) and it went out again this week - so they go about a year before the fuse blows for whatever reason. I'm going to try to wire mine up with fuse holder this time. Cool product that hampered by a design flaw. So I'll recommend this with reservations - you can't expect all of your customers to be able to do this kind of technical work and you shouldn't expect them to keep replacing the product - that gets expensive.

I have had these for over three years and they worked great. However they stopped working all of a sudden. All three lights were out. I came on here to see how much it would be to replace them and I read Kafkaesque's review about the fuse. Sure enough, I replaced the fuse and they are working fine again. I would recommend a buy and recommend checking the fuse before replacing.

once a year you must replace the power plug, the dimmer switch works with the new power supply,so its the power supply thats junk, not the switch.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Kafkaesque Solid lighting option
If the dimmer unit stops working you can REPLACE THE FUSE instead of replacing the whole unit -- way cheaper. It's a 125v 2a 5x20mm fuse, but 250v seems to work too. THANKS PHLACOE FOR THE ADVICE BELOW!
This is a solid option for those who aren't electricians/contractors and don't want to spend hundreds to install the pipe supply needed for "real" under-cabinet lighting. Looks great once it's in place. Lots of light and nice to have three settings. Play around with placement before committing and potentially having to reposition -- too far forward or too far back and they don't look as good. Installation is labor-intensive and a little tricky -- you have to follow the instructions pretty carefully, and concealing the cords requires some ingenuity.
The bulbs will burn out if you leave these on a lot, so buy a supply. Worse is that the dimmer units blow out, apparently with some regularity (mine did and that's when I found these reviews). So buy a supply of fuses ($10 for 5 on Amazon)

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Beef65 poorly designed power/dimmer mpdule
Power-dimmer module is poorly designed. Lasts about a yr, with little use, (Condo in Mexico, mainly vacant). Am on my third module. The cost of the 3 lite system is now up to about $85.00, which is way more than it is worth. Needs to be redesigned. Have opened the module, and in no case was the problem a blown fuse. Have still not switched the system out, as was a fairly involved instillation due to design of the kitchen cabinets.

My wife and I have used this dimmer with great success in our bedroom. We have lights on end tables at each side of the bed, both plugged into one of these dimmers. We've been using this product for 4 years without any mechanical issues.
The only moderate complaint I have is that when used in the lower power settings, our lamps which both have incandescent bulbs, produce an audible hum. It isn't loud, but when the room is quiet and we are reading its noticeable.
Unlike the other reviewer, we haven't had any problems with high rates of bulbs burning out or with power adapter problems.

Had to replace the touch dimmer after a while. Not sure why but it was easy to do.
