Answer:
I do not own the GX53 but do own the EE716-ES and there is a small rocker switch on each base outlet. Not sure this will help but it was a little tricky to find on my lights.

Answer:
Hi Cole, this light does not work by itself. This is a replacement light for a kit which is SKU #899712. The kit is an under mount cabinet lighting. There is an inline switch in the kit that makes these light work.

Customer Reviews

Rated 1.7 out of 5 by 15 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not a good purchase. Easy to install. Purchased 3 at a reasonable price. Installed one and it is working great. Of the other 2 that were installed in a second home, only one is working. Trying to find a replacement bulb at Home Depot is impossible. They do not carry the product any longer. The two that are working get really hot in a short time. This might indicate it might be not a good design nor fuction for undercounter lights. Best thing is to shop arpound for an LED and replace with existing one that will likely be around when i sell the house. October 7, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Terrible product I concur with all of the negative reviews of this Hampton Bay product. One of the worst lamp products ever made considering quality and value. Lamps burn out frequently and now I can't buy replacements. Maybe there is not sufficient market but those of us that own this terrible product could certainly use a high quality LED replacement lamp to fit our current fixtures. January 9, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by More junk from Home Depot I bought four sets of these Hampton Bay "Puck lights" from the ancient orange. Naturally they do not stock replacement lights October 27, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by 90 Warranty I have 5 of these lighting my kitchen counter tops and I'm always replacing the bulbs. There should be a statement of warranty on the packaging. After 2 years, I decided to check the Home Depot website (I don't see these bulbs sold anywhere else) for the warranty information and although the bulbs are rated at 10,000 hours, the warranty is only 90 days. At almost $10 each, I'm spending $50 to $100 a year. Very disappointing to see Home Depot as the sole supplier of this very poorly made product. June 17, 2012
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by They are bad but read this These lamps burn out sooner than what they say, so this is why. If you touch the plastic cover you'll notice how hot it is. they overheat and fail. This is what to do, remove the lamp and pry off the plastic cover which is probably brown already and toss it away. you'll get more light out of it and it will last longer. The wires are insulated so you won't get a shock. They will last forever when you do this. January 14, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by The 7-watt bulbs constantly burn out I HAVE 6-UNDER CABINET LIGHTS AND HAVE HAD TO REPLACE 3 BULBS IN 2 YEARS. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT B/C THE BULBS DO NOT LAST ANYWHERE NEAR THE ALLEGED TIME THEY SHOULD. AT $10 EACH TO REPLACE, ITS A TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY. THE 90-DAY WARRANTY IS NO-GOOD. ditto to the other reviews below.. February 26, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Lights do not last long and replacements are too costly I bought 3 sets of 3 ea of these lights for a total of 9. Two have already burnt out and I estimate I have about 1,500 hours on them ~ nothing near the 10,000 hours they are rated to work. These replacement bulbs are expensive... was not aware of that when I bought the initial kit, and maybe would not have bought them had I know they start burning out so quick. September 7, 2012
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Burns out quicker than rated I bought a set of 3 of these bulb units for cabinet lighting that runs constantly. At 10,000 hours as rated should have lasted about 14 months. Got 8 months on 2 of these.. the other is still working. Wih only a 90 day waranty, what they could say the bulb is rated for 20,000 hours or 1,000,000 hours! won't cost them anything... NOT A HAPPY CUSTOMER! July 1, 2012
