Having installed quite a few rope lights (Pro electrician) it is unfathonable why the color of the light is not on the package.
Why doesn't it say whether or not you can cut it? why is the 27' rope blue white and the 18' rope warm white? Are other lengths available? I know HD has these made in China, Why can't they have something made and described better. these are not cheap except for the product.

I originally purchased 2 sets of these lights for my patio. When I got home I found that I had 2 different colors of lights. I took one set back and got another that matched my other set. When I got it home, I realized that there was a section of lights in the string that weren't working. I returned these and also bought another set to finish out the length of my patio. When I made it home and plugged them all in, I realized that I now have 3 different shades of white, even though all of the boxes say they are the same product. I will be taking all 3 sets back and plugging them all in together at the store to see if I can get a matching set. To make matters worse, I have to drive 60 miles to get to the nearest home depot.

Rope light works well enough and is reasonably bright, however, mounting plastic extremely fragile and worst of all, Philips head screws burr out if you even look at them. PATHETIC! I'd dare them to come remount mine.

Save yourself the time and avoid the problems with these lights. Something in the manufacture is poor and causes failure. First set had 4' in the middle that would not light. Took them out of the box and never unrolled and plugged in to find dead spot. Next set tested before I left the store and looked OK. Unrolled and attached with the clips. plugged in and 4' in the middle was dead. Jiggled connections and no light. they go back tomorrow and I will find another product. For $70 these should be a much better product.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by CeeJay Took back the day we bought them.
We bought these lights to install under my son's loft bed. Halfway through the installation (we were mounting in u-shaped mounting channels - which was not fun), the last 4 feet of the rope went dark. It seemed very much like a loose wire somewhere inside since the lights would come back on if you moved the rope in a very specific position. Just as all the others have said, it's just shoddy manufacturing.

What they call a Warm white light has green cast to it. Recommend that if you want a warm light similar to incandescent, go with the Amber colored rope light, assuming you can find it. Also, as others have noted here there is a huge range in colors among the same product. You can get three different colors of white. Recommend if buying multiple strands, plug them in together before you leave the store.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Dirk burned out suddenly after 4 months
All was well and suddenly it quit working. After replacing the fuse (which it almost seemed like they expected it to burn out as they included a new one) it instantly blew the new fuse. I looked at the light rope and the first 4 inches were blackened inside.
Unfortunately it is not an easy thing to replace the light string.

These lights looked beautiful when run around the deck railing. They are hung permanently. After three months, 1/3 of the lights on two strings quit working. The lights also lost their intensity after a couple of months. Regardless, they still illuminate well and look good.
