Most cabinets have a 1x4 or something sturdy you can screw through when mounting to the wall. These don't seem to have that. Do you just screw through the back of the cabinet into the wall?

Especially when mounted in a laundry room which can be quite damp much of the time- the press board absorbs moisture and softens up ( in my case-3 years) and my contractor just screwed them directly into the studs. Trouble is he used small head type wood screws--only 1/4 to 3/8 in diameter and even worse they were counter sunk into the press board.--BIG mistake--wood just softened up around the screw and a big chunk of the board pulled out and stayed on the wall with the screws still securely mounted in the studs! Should have used larger pan headed wood screws with large washer behind it. Read Less

Answer:
Yes you do screw thru the back of the cabinet ( pilot hole first) at the desired location hopefully aligned with a stud. The 2 cabinets I installed in my laundry room, I first secured a 1x4 to the wall at the top and bottom of where the cabinet would be fixed. This allowed me to screw/secure the cabinet anywhere along the top or bottom. I have done this on drywall over studs and on concrete block walls. Read More

Yes it's a little more work and materials and it adds about 3/4" to the depth but it's a more secure and safer result. Read Less

In checking around it appears this is not a "standard size". However Home Depot my have a division/dept. that can price you a custom made cabinet from one of their distributors. Try going on the web site and getting on the chat line with a rep. They should be able to tell you if they have the ability to provide custom made products for this or any other product.

Yes the sides are finished, however the top and bottom are not, but are recessed up/down about 1", so standing looking straight at the cabinet you don't see the top or the bottom. Seeing the top is not usually an issue because it's either up against a ceiling or the top is high enough on the wall that you can't tell if it is a solid flat top or not. As far as the bottom side if appearance is an issue you Read More

I'm not sure if the cabinet frame and/or hinges make it look like a cabinet without a door, or more what I am looking for - open shelf.

Answer:
Removing hinges would leave screw holes in cabinet frame. Hinges may also leave small impressions in frame & facing; unable to check this without removing hinges. Be ready to inspect once it's at home, and re-pack & return it if you're unhappy.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great cabinet for the price I purchased and installed this cabinet in our laundry room. It looks great and keeps all the detergents and dryer sheets out of sight. The cabinet is well built and has a nice satin finish. August 16, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Laundry Room Cabinets Well constructed stock cabinets for the cost. One 30" (in center) and two 24" cabinets completed the wall above the washer and dryer, adding a great deal of useful storage that compliments the beauty of the renovation in the room. February 10, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Unhappy The cabinet doors are not level we didn't realize this until they were hung not a happy customer we cannot truly adjust them enough to look normal July 19, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good value This is a fairly spacious cabinet at a good price. Quality is also high. I added a knob and use it for towels and other storage in the bathroom above the toilet. June 24, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect for First Time Homebuyers I am a first time homebuyer who purchased these cabinets as part of a split decision to gut the entire kitchen of my new home and replace in only a week's time. With time and budget limitations, I had to shop in stock selections at local stores. I was able to get all the cabinetry from my entire kitchen in stock and on sale in time for installation prior to my move in. I absolutely love the finished product. These cabinets are beautiful and very easy to keep clean. Installation was also very easy. May 26, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Wall cabinets Product delivered as promised and in good condition. Minor imperfections April 5, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Caveat Emptor Sides were not all assembled even with top - +/- less than a sixteenth of an inch.. Not a problem if you're installing top cupboards, but I was using them on a plinth base to create more pantry, so more shimming required under the the top. Assembled with staples, and the gun guy kept shooting, so extra staples partly in behind front frame. Packing barely protects product, so inspect carefully for corner dings and other damage. You get what you pay for: these are inexpensive cupboards, but look nice if you're careful. February 10, 2016
