Most cabinets have a 1x4 or something sturdy you can screw through when mounting to the wall. These don't seem to have that. Do you just screw through the back of the cabinet into the wall?

Especially when mounted in a laundry room which can be quite damp much of the time- the press board absorbs moisture and softens up ( in my case-3 years) and my contractor just screwed them directly into the studs. Trouble is he used small head type wood screws--only 1/4 to 3/8 in diameter and even worse they were counter sunk into the press board.--BIG mistake--wood just softened up around the screw and a big chunk of the board pulled out and stayed on the wall with the screws still securely mounted in the studs! Should have used larger pan headed wood screws with large washer behind it. Read Less

Yes you do screw thru the back of the cabinet ( pilot hole first) at the desired location hopefully aligned with a stud. The 2 cabinets I installed in my laundry room, I first secured a 1x4 to the wall at the top and bottom of where the cabinet would be fixed. This allowed me to screw/secure the cabinet anywhere along the top or bottom. I have done this on drywall over studs and on concrete block walls. Read More

In checking around it appears this is not a "standard size". However Home Depot my have a division/dept. that can price you a custom made cabinet from one of their distributors. Try going on the web site and getting on the chat line with a rep. They should be able to tell you if they have the ability to provide custom made products for this or any other product.

Yes the sides are finished, however the top and bottom are not, but are recessed up/down about 1", so standing looking straight at the cabinet you don't see the top or the bottom. Seeing the top is not usually an issue because it's either up against a ceiling or the top is high enough on the wall that you can't tell if it is a solid flat top or not. I'm not sure if the cabinet frame and/or hinges make it look like a cabinet without a door, or more what I am looking for - open shelf.

Answer:
Removing hinges would leave screw holes in cabinet frame. Hinges may also leave small impressions in frame & facing; unable to check this without removing hinges. Be ready to inspect once it's at home, and re-pack & return it if you're unhappy.

24x30x12 in. Hampton Wall Cabinet in Satin White is rated 3.7 out of 5 by 30.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from extremely disappointed in this entire line. Price for the white was $60 more than unfinished ... extremely disappointed in this entire line. Price for the white was $60 more than unfinished Oak. I expected that the face frame might be a bit lower quality since it can be hidden by paint, but the whole cabinet is shoddy. Of a 12 part order 4 needed to be returned, if possible, you should open every cabinet before you leave the store.. The cabinets are 3/8" particle board just glued and stapled, no plywood anywhere. An upper cabinet of this group is supposed to hold canned goods without any structure? I had to add plywood into the backs. this was supposed to be a time saver. wasn't. Face frames are warped, makes aligning fronts very tough. 2 face frames had 1/4" gap at one joint.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great cabinet for the price I purchased and installed this cabinet in our laundry room. It looks great and keeps all the detergents and dryer sheets out of sight. The cabinet is well built and has a nice satin finish.

The cabinets don't look bad but the construction is shoddy. 2 of the first 5 cabinets we received were defective even though the boxes were undamaged. And they were too far gone for us to simply do onsite repairs ourselves. When we brought them back to the store for replacement, the Home Depot employees had to go through three more boxes before we could find ones that were usable. Still had defects, mind you. Just small enough defects that we could work around them. Now that we've hung them we can tell you that the cabinets were not square (they were more like parallelograms) and had to be hung at various angles to get the front edges to line up as if they were level. And there is no wooden strip along the back or top for support so there's nothing holding these to the wall except for however many screws you sink into studs. Well, even though I have faith that the screws won't come out of the studs, I have no faith that the screws themselves won't rip right through the cheap pressboard they're stuck in so we've added giant washers around the screwheads to spread out the support but even then the fronts and sides of the cabinets (also being pressboard) could rip apart at any time if we added much weight to these cabinets. All in all, I would not recommend beyond light duty in a laundry room of a rental property.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I appreciate that Home Depot offers this cabinet and especially in white. I purchased 3 cabinets... I appreciate that Home Depot offers this cabinet and especially in white. I purchased 3 cabinets to go over the toilets in my house. Two of the three had a small defect on the front of the cabinet (small lump) but cabinets were too heavy for me to think about bringing them back. Also, would be nice if they included appropriate screws for the cabinets. I have previously bought several of the same cabinets without defects. Overall a great product.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Recommended with Reservations For installation, I give this a 2. For everyday usage, I give this a 4. The cabinets are not built truly square and required quite a bit of sanding, shimming and chalking to get multiple units to line up. Once installed, the cabinets function well. The finish is pretty durable and easy to clean. The movable shelves are not the full depth of the cabinet. Also, the hinges open to just past 90 degrees (so don't whack your head on them like I did).

The cabinet that I received had staples protruding through the back panel, the front frame fixing screws were loose, and there was a large gap between the left side panel and the frame where the joint had not been properly made. I probably picked up a bad one but with the joints exposed I could see how poorly these are constructed. Poor quality even by Home Depot standards.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Well made, happy so far. Installed them ourselves. Measurements are correct. You will need screws for mounting which we used the ones from the old cabinets we removed. And any handles/knobs if using. Shelves are adjustable (2 per cabinet).
