Customer Questions & Answers

I am not sure I understand the dimensions. How much wall space do I need in each direction from the corner?

Also, does the door open in such a way that I could put refrigerator up next to left side of lazy susan corner base?
Asked by: john
This cabinet is indeed very confusing, and both Home Depot, and the manufacturer really need to post a diagram on the box, and on here, in their description of how this cabinet installs to show its dimensions. Going into your store, and trying to measure this cabinet will not tell you the correct dimensions. In the bow, this cabinet appears to only be 28-3/8" wide on each side, but this is NOT how this cabinet installs. This cabinet DOES NOT fit up against your wall, not on either side. The front face of this cabinet will sit flush with the cabinets next to it, but this cabinet sits a long ways away from your wall, on both sides, and will require the use of ledger boards to hold your counter top up in the back. So, as has already been stated, you need 36" in each direction away from your corner. If either, or both ends of this cabinet are the end of your cabinets, you will need a trim panel to fill this gap, not a trim strip, but a panel large enough to cover the huge gap left. So, it is much easier if this cabinet is not used as an end cabinet. This cabinet is a nice design, and takes good advantage of the "lazy Susan" idea, but this cabinet is a HUGE space waster compared to a full depth, and width cabinet with shelving.

is this actually wood or that partical board materal

Asked by: bob
The specs show the case is particle board and the doors are framed wood with pocket screws...double check this unit is still available as I believe these units are now discontinued by Home Depot... Some reviewers indicate that the doors are an issue as they pivot on one end placing a large load on the single edge support hinges... I have a set of these in a corner of my garage, and had to strengthen the door hinge edge with an additional hinge to stop the doors from sagging... Hope this helps...

Asked by: Kris
Replacing the door hinges should be an easy task, however, I am not sure if the door hinges are available separately from Hampton Bay...try the customer service at or call them on 855-434-2678. Good luck!

Customer Reviews

28.375x34.5x16.5 in. Lazy Susan Corner Base Cabinet with Two 360 Degree Rotating Metal Racks in Medium Oak is rated 3.2 out of 5 by 16.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from SO DISSAPONTED I purchased this line of cabinets as it was all that I could afford. I was extremely happy with them after they were installed last Tuesday. It is now Sunday, 5 days later, and the two doors on the lazy susan cabinet have started to separate. There is a gap between the two where the top hing connects them that keeps getting wider every time I use it. Now it doesn't sit flush against the cabinet at all. Not being a Handy Andrea, I'm hesitant to mess with it and now have to have my contractor come back and see if he can fix it. Returning the unit is of course out of the question as it's installed with a counter top and would be a ridiculous expense. Also, this line has been discontinued by Home Depot (are we surprised, boys and girls?) and they don't have any more at my local HD and do not feel like running all over the state of NJ to try and find a replacement. You really do get what you pay for. I should have known that at my advanced stage of life.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nicer than regular corner cabinet We enjoy the metal spinners/ lazy Susan inside, but there is alot of wasted space with these Lazy Susan models- not just behind the cabinet, but inside it (which we knew ahead of time). The doors are a little bit clunky in how they open/ close (worse closing than opening)- and we will need to install some pulls to minimize this element.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Incorrect sizing dimensions listed DO NOT FALL FOR THIS ! The dimensions listed as 24" deep are totally incorrect, as the item measures only 18" deep...This means the back of the unit is some six (6) inches shorter than a standard 24" floor cabinet depth. If the back of this cabinet is exposed, you will need to frame out to affix any additional decorative panel. Worse still, you cannot start your installation, as recommended, from a corner, as the unit needs to sit some six inches off of the wall,(what are you supposed to affix this to ?) to align the front of the cabinet with the other standard 24" deep cabinets. What alerted me was the term "fits inside a 36 x 36 space" and the lack of nomimal dimensions on the packaging and the Home Depot racking label. . Pull one out from the rack and check before you buy...BUYER BEWARE !!!!!!!! Some designer simply got this wrong, big time

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fits in a 36" Space and Aligns Perfectly with Adjoining Cabinets Just installed this cabinet with adjoining cabinets on both sides which covered up that 7 and 5/8 inch gap on the sides. No issues at all. When ordering, I was made well aware that there would be a gap and it makes sense in that case to make those gaps covered up with other cabinets or maybe a panel. Anyway, I joined the corner cabinet with the 2 side cabinets at the face frames as indicated in the directions. I did put shims in near the top portion of the cabinet to keep the cabinet sides parallel towards the middle. With that gap in the back, however, I will need to put a 1 by 3 on both sides to support a countertop but that is not a big deal. I probably saved a grand or two installing the base cabinets, countertops, and upper cabinets myself. Very happy that cabinets are pre-made and sized perfectly and level. I installed 3 base cabinets and 4 upper cabinets. All is level in every direction. (I level things like crazy!) Please note that I am not a professional.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fell a little short LIterally it fell a little short. If you push this cabinet all the way into the corner its just not right. You have to pull it away from the wall on both sides about 7 3/4in in order to be flush with the cabinets on both sides. We also had to purchase the diswasher panel to cover the exposed side. Otherwise you would see the gap. All in all not a bad cabinet, just dont go crazy like I did trying to make it work without pulling it away from the wall. Build a little bracket to anchor it to the wall and support the counter top and VIOLA! your good to go.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not 36x36 I unboxed the cabinet, and noticed it was a bit short, over 7 inches to be exact, the depth is a little over 17 inches and the width is 28.5 inches, I carefully planned my layout to include the corner cabinet 36X36X24 not 28.5x28.5x17 No, I do not recommend this product unless you can deal with the size error. It does take up the wall space it says, thats how they get away with it.
