Theoretically you could stack your wood beyond the brackets that hold the screen if you aren't grilling. If you intend to cook over your fire make it a little smaller and spread the wood over more of the bottom rather than leaving it in a 'teepee' formation. The screen is very tightly woven so embers can't escape; very important if used in the open near trees, brush, etc. I hope this helps. Read Less

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Fire Pit durable and nice design, low price, what I was expecting August 2, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by This product has been wonderfull for our family. The fire pit has been an asset to our home and yard. It serves our purpose very well. We are very comfortable using it around our family. July 19, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice entry level Fire Pit! Came safely packaged, was easy to assemble and works well. We have used it several times on spring evenings after family dinners outside. June 24, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Rusty fire pit Love the stars design, but rusted very quickly. Tried repainting with grill paint. Rusted on the inside and the bottom. April 23, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good fire pit I bought this fire pit to sit and relax while burning brush and branches that fall on my property. It works great! I read the other comments about rust and bought a can of high heat spray paint and coated the entire pit before use. I also cover it with a small tarp. (Cheaper than a pit cover ) So far no rust. March 22, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good product My husband and I purchased this fire pit online for $20 less than the original price so we felt like this was a great deal! We have already used it and we loved it. The only negative thing I have to say about this was that when the product arrived at our house (FREE home shipping!) the screws that attached the bottom stand thing were MIA.. no where to be found. We got some from somewhere else and attached it that way. January 28, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good fire pit for the money Easy to assemble and worked fantastic. Only problem was that the ring at the top easily broke when twisting it on to the top. November 15, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Could be better I bought this to burn the small branches that fall off a neighbors tree. I had the thing for 2 days and then we had a very light rain while I was at work. I came home to find rust all over the cover and the pit itself. You would think that something that was going to stay outside would be painted in rustoleum type paint. Look for something better if your in the market for a fire pit unless you like the rusty look. October 20, 2015
