Sink Installation

Has anyone installed a Farmhouse or Apron Front sink into this cabinet ? Are there any limitations as to what sink i can install ?
Asked by: Frank
Aside from the normal considerations for any sink (width and depth), an additional consideration for installing a "farmhouse" sink in any sink base cabinet is going to be the height of the top "false drawer front". Since the farmhouse sink will project forward of the cabinet front which will need to be cut for the sink front, the top of the cabinet front needs to be tall enough for the sink cutout without affecting the doors below. ***There are cabinets that are made specifically for this and have a taller top "blank" portion and shorter doors below. If they are available (you'd have to check with Home Depot's cabinet department) a set of shorter doors could be ordered and simply install a blank piece of white melamine above, but this kind of modification is not without at least some risk of ruining the cabinet. So: 1) Measure the sink you have in mind to get an idea of what sort of modifications will need to be done to the cabinet 2) Look at the cabinet in person to see if the top portion can be removed/replaced (white melamine shelving should be a good enough match since most of it will be cut anyway). 3) Check to see if a shorter pair of doors are available from Home Depot...planning is key to see if the job can be done, and if so, how to proceed. For someone familiar with kitchen cabinets and who has good basic carpentry skills, the job could be done if the doors are available. It's doubtful that a typical farmhouse sink could be installed in this cabinet without modifications since these sinks are taller and deeper than usual.

Actually I need to replace just the doors of my sink base cabinet. The door measure 17 by 23 each and it is white.

I am willing to buy the complete unit but I need to make sure the door fits my current unit. What is the door measurement for this unit?
Asked by: Derby
This being a 36" sink base and of a "full overlay" type, each door is a bit under 18" wide.

Can I purchase drawers fronts and replacement doors?

I believe I have this kitchen set in my home but I need a few replacement parts three of my doors have developed bubbles and cracks. Two of my drawer fronts are also cracked and need to be replaced.
Asked by: Walnut
You'll have to ask your Home Depot Kitchen Specialist this question directly at the store. If they can't for some reason get them, this is a popular type/style cabinet and they may be available in a very close (if not exactly) match elsewhere as a last resort. ***In either case, you'll need to either bring the exact dimensions of each piece (door or drawer front) ...or the actual pieces with you when checking. Be aware that, if you get them somewhere else, there may be some shade and texture variations, so this should ONLY be a last resort.

36x34.5x24 in. Hampton Sink Base Cabinet in Satin White is rated 3.2 out of 5 by 49.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Recommended with Reservations For installation, I give this a 2. For everyday usage, I give this a 4. The cabinets are not built truly square and required quite a bit of sanding, shimming and chalking to get multiple units to line up. Once installed, the cabinets function well. The finish is pretty durable and easy to clean. This cabinet does not include a shelf but there are peg holes if your sink drainage allows space to add one. You must install knobs or handles (there are no pre-drilled holes for this) because there is no space to grab the edge of the door below the top panel.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from a good VALUE purchase pretty nice for the price. visual and utility is far better than the quality, which I'd rate low. if you're not prepared to trim to get level, cut holes thru some nasty material, and generally spend more effort than cash you'll find a deal here.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from extremely disappointed in this entire line. Price for the white was $60 more than unfinished ... extremely disappointed in this entire line. Price for the white was $60 more than unfinished Oak. I expected that the face frame might be a bit lower quality since it can be hidden by paint, but the whole cabinet is shoddy. Of a 12 part order 4 needed to be returned, if possible, you should open every cabinet before you leave the store.. The cabinets are 3/8" particle board just glued and stapled, no plywood anywhere. An upper cabinet of this group is supposed to hold canned goods without any structure? I had to add plywood into the backs. this was supposed to be a time saver. wasn't. Face frames are warped, makes aligning fronts very tough. 2 face frames had 1/4" gap at one joint.

When they arrived about 3 were damaged including the big pantry style cabinet. Yes home depot did replace but had to pick up from store. Had to adjust several doors and replace some screw on hinges that were stripped also had to adjust several drawers. Now after having for about 5 years the cheap white vinyl covering is starting to peel on several doors. I am trying to figure out how to fix, maybe some kind of adhesive. Maybe peel all off and paint. Well over all not satisfied at how long the white vinyl covering lasted on these cabinets.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Spend more -- These cabinets very poorly built. In fact so poorly they were unstable and as a result were partially damaged upon arrival. These cabinets were returned immediately; very disappointed.
