I just wrote a review of this fixture detailing how ridiculous the design is.
The bulbs are 50 watt QU-10 style bulbs with two pins at the base that rotate into slots in the base of the fixture. The best bet is to get your hands very dry, press both thumbs firmly against the front of the bulb and try to rotate it counterclockwise. It takes quite a bit of force and some jiggling to get it loose.

Putting a new bulb in is even harder, there's no way to grasp the bulb and orient the pins properly for rotating them clockwise into the slots. I put two pieces of gaffers tape on the front of the bulb in an x-patttern with tabs that let me hold onto the front of the bulb. That worked after a lot of fiddling but it's an absurd design. Good luck, you'll need it. Read Less

Rated 3.6 out of 5 by 57 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Bulbs difficult to install. Installing the bulbs are so difficult, what genius came up with this design is beyond my comprehension. All I want is to install the fixture with ease and forget it. I am assuming that when the bulb burns out it will be a night mare taking it out. The rubber tool they give you doesn't work at all, sticks to the bulb and before you can get the bulb inside the lamp the tool suction stopped working. Need to take this fixture to the drawing board and come up with a better design. Installation should be easy for all consumers not just for those who has more experience on installing light fixture or handy man. October 22, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Just Burn your Money Instead Thought this was a cute looking light fixture that I could direct light to at various places. And it did. UNTIL I had to change a light bulb! The bulb width is virtually the same as the shade, meaning one cannot easily remove the old bulbs, or put in new ones. Right now I have changed 4 burnt out bulbs within a year, and one of the lamps never lights because I can't get it out, even with a $10 suction tool (which I am returning). Avoid Halogen bulb fixtures, as halogen gets too hot, burns out quickly, and they are very expensive ($3-5 a bulb) to replace. September 8, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Terrible design Had to get longer screws to fit fixture to the anchor box...installing the bulbs is a total joke. Already had one fall out and smash in a million pieces on the tile floor. DON'T BUY THIS ITEM...you'll be frustrated and ruin your weekend trying to install it or the bulbs. September 11, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Lights up the kitchen nicely Installation was straight-forward and easy for an amateur electrician. The halogen lights throw out a hot light, which works well in our kitchen (central air conditioning). I like that the individual lamps are aimable, throwing spotlights on the work areas. A pair of these units light our small kitchen very well. And, they look good with our decor. TIP: Install individual bulbs BEFORE installing the unit, because they're nigh impossible to install with the unit hanging from the ceiling. July 26, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Easy to install I disagree with other reviews regarding the difficulty to install the bulbs. Yes, it takes some finesse and patience to install the bulbs, but I used the rubber suction cup that came in the box and it took me about 5 minutes total to install the 4 bulbs. Overall it took about 15 minutes to install the fixture. It looks great. I picked it up in-store and all globes were intact and all bulbs worked once I flipped the switch. Works well with the old dimmer switch already in the wall. January 17, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice Product, Good Price I wanted to replace my fluorescent lights and put up track lighting, so when I saw this at Home Depot I was sold by the look and price. The installation was difficult, my boyfriend and I put it up together and we had the hardest time get the base connected to the wall and screw it at the same time. Now that it is complete I can't even remember what we were trying to screw on. But after we got it up the light bulbs were the next job. There is a suction tool included to help install the light bulbs. I had never seen this type before, but we had to put it in the socket just right and then twist for it to lock. You have to be careful that the light bulb does not fall off the suction tool. Overall we were happy with the look once the job was completed. September 16, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by A pain to install This fixture was a pain for my husband to install. He had to get longer screws to go through the plate, then scratched up the buttons tightening them. Then the bulbs were a total pain to get in. He had to take the whole thing down so I could finagle the bulbs in. Then repeat the whole process, trying to get the wires to stay back, screws through the holes and then tightening the buttons/nuts. I'm crossing my fingers the bulbs don't go out as quickly as other reviewers experienced. I wish I'd read the reviews; I'd have bought the more expensive track lighting. April 2, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Lovely Island light! Shipped very fast and is beautiful! Very bright and great that you can move the lights to direct the beam. May 17, 2016
