Answer:
This model could be mounted going up or down, but the spacing between my medicine cabinet and where the light fixture was suppose to be mounted it worked better mounting lights going up. I got all my answers reading the specs and descriptions on the product on the Home Depot site. It made installing a breeze.

Answer:
A dimmer switch will work fine with incandescent bulbs. I've not had good luck with florescent bulbs on dimmer switches.

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 98 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good light for the price I gave this light fixture 4 stars instead of 5 only because of the way it mounts. It mounts with only two anchors. Because of the weight of the glass shades it should really mount with four anchors at the corners because the weight of the glass shades can pull it away from the wall slightly at the top corners. Other than that this is a good light for the price paid. March 19, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by nice Beautiful fixture that puts out a lot if light. I really enjoy how much it has changed the bathroom. July 26, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice Lighting Fixture This product was of good quality and very easy to install. July 19, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Light! Installed easily & looks like the picture. We like a lot of light in our bathroom, especially me to put my makeup on. This works great for that! June 21, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Look good enough up on the wall Picking a light bar I was able to hide the fact that the wiring was not close to centered, which was very helpful. The light itself looks good but upon a closer most of the shades had various marks and bubbles and each unit had some minor dents in the chrome out of the box. I purchased three of these and in one case the shade had a shatter crack. I did not replace it since the fixture was on the wall when I noticed and just put the crack facing to the back. It is clear that the manufacturer had shoddy quality practices but these light are not expensive so I guess you get what you pay for, that said I would use them again. Once up on the wall they looked pretty good. April 27, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Hampton Bay Vanity Light Great light for the price and easy to install. Very happy with this purchase. June 8, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Looking! This a great looking 4 light, brushed nickel bath light. Especially considering the price. It was only moderately difficult to install. The hardest part of installation was holding the light fixture while trying to attach the wires from the fixture to the home wiring. It was hard to do while holding the fixture with one hand and tightening the wire nuts with the other. They need to come up with a holding fixture like they have for ceiling fans and outdoor flood lights. Another difficulty was attaching the light fixture to its back plate. It is attached with two very small spherical nuts. See Photo # 1 Because of their small size they are difficult to handle. Also the threads on one of them was not finished properly and was very difficult to put on. I installed 40 watt LED bulbs and they provided plenty of light in this fixture. September 28, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Lights The fit the bill exactly. I bought two fo them and they both look great and work great. April 26, 2016
