Rated 3 out of 5Â by Sn3Modeler *Fragile* mounting stakes - BEWARE!
The light itself is great. However, the cheap and flimsy plastic mounting stakes will snap off if you barely look at them the wrong way, and the Hampton Bay "Universal Solar Light Ground Stakes" that I initially used for repair aren't much better as they don't provide adequate support for the mast and light; if you inadvertently brush against them, they become floppy and sag! I ended up making my own replacement stakes out of 3/4" underground irrigation pipe with a PVC collar made out of a union and and finally wrapping the top with foam tape for a snug, press fit. In the attached photo the slotted end will go up inside the square mast and the slot is so the wires can pass through until they reach the ground. Once the wires are fed through, then the foam tape is wrapped around the slotted portion and it is pressed into the square mast.
It's a mystery why a great product is effectively ruined for many by having such a flimsy mounting stake...too bad...good product, but you'll have to upgrade the mounting system!

Rated 5 out of 5Â by 2cents Excellent choice for lighting
These are a great set of LED lights and yes you have to be careful as stated in the instructions on the stakes. These are bright LEDs and here is a tip if you want to defuse the light to a glow just take a semi transparent milk or water jug cut 2 inch strips and curve in the inside of the glass lens and you have diffused lights. If you need a longer electrical wire than the 50 ft 18 gauge that is included, pick up at the Home Depot a 100 FT 14 gauge wire about $38.00 and why not order another a light fixture. Good luck.

Rated 2 out of 5Â by Rookeworld6 ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE!!!! CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP!!!!
After looking into several options for landscaping lighting, and not being pleased with the weak solar lights I chose to spend a little more and upgrade (so I thought) to this Hampton Bay set . . . BIG MISTAKE!!! The lights have not made it through 6 months. Within two weeks alone one of the lights stakes broke at ground level. The set is cheaply made and does not stay level at a complete 90 degree angle. After a few more months the second light stake broke at ground level after a small shrub grew out onto the fixture. Now down two lights I decided to call Customer Service to get replacements for the stakes. Customer Service was no help at all! some of the worse customer service I have ever experienced! After being transferred to three different departments I spoke with a young lady who 3 favorite words were "I don't know". She could not answer the most basic questions of "what does your UPC codes start with, so I can tell you what part I need for my model?" "If I was transferred to the wrong department/group, what group do I need to contact to inquire about this particular product?" needless to say this lighting set is not worth the hefty $200 price tag! (Well I consider it hefty for ladnscape lights). I have had a tough time finding professional grade lighting at the box stores, and they all seem to come with these cheap plastic stakes that are bound to break. I will be returning this useless piece of engineering tomorrow and will go the professional installation wrought for my landscape lighting needs. Hampton Bay really needs to address their product service and customer service.
Sorry I don't have any photos. I wrote this review after I pulled the lights out and boxed them up.

Alittle trouble getting the caps on the stems, but otherwise it assembled fine. The tips don't seat exactly perfect into the stems. Actually bigger than I thought we were buying. Looks great.

This was a great kit. The quality of the lights is great for the price, but you have to BE CAREFUL sticking them in the ground. I've broken two plastic stakes already and had to get new ones. You have to place them on the level before sticking them in the ground. If you try to adjust for straight after, you'll snap the stakes off every time!
