Is there a different LED light kit I could purchase for this fan?

The halogen light bulb is great, but only last 300-400 hours which I believe is about what it says it will last. I end up replacing it every three months or so which is more maintenance than I would like. I know some ceiling fans do have differnt light kits, but I have been unable to find that for this one, thanks.

You could buy a universal LED light kit but it would not match the finish of you fan.

Replacement bulbs still not working

We purchased replacement 100 bulbs and they are not working. How do we troubleshoot this problem? Could it be a wiring issue?

Answer: 
You need to make sure that the bulb you purchased is a JED-11 100 watt halogen. When installing the bulb please be ensure not to touch the glass of the bulb as the oils in your fingers will cause bulb to burn out. You can call our customer service # @ 800-527-0998 and they can run through a list of trouble shooting check list if you have the time.

This unit is equipped with a wattage limiting device. Lamping in excess of 190 watts will disable your ceilingfan's light kit. To reset your light kit you must turn the power off and re lamp, keeping the wattage under 190 watts. Restore power to your ceiling fan and continue normal operation.

Answer: 
You can order a new remote through Hampton Bay or possibly The Home Depot. I recommend first, making sure you have fresh batteries in the remote and second, check the receiver that is inside the top cover housing (at the ceiling). If all connections are good, it is likely the remote going bad. For this reason, I opted to bypass the remote receiver and hard wire my fan to a wall mounted 3-speed switch.

Answer: 
There is a toggle switch on top of the housing. The remote does NOT have a button to reverse the direction. My fan is 14' above the floor and it is not easy changing the direction

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Ceiling Fan Beautiful fan, very quiet and moves a lot of air. Light is soft and pleasant. The fan light is not the primary lighting in our bathroom. Installation was was good. We had some problems because of the pitch in the bathroom ceiling. If you have a vaulted ceiling, I recommend you measure the pitch to determine if you will need an adapter. September 1, 2016

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Purchased 4 - all 4 became defective within 11 months! Hampton Bay Customer Service leaves much to be desired. Within 6 months, 2 of my fans would not shift into high speed. One was making a humming sound. Customer Service sent out receivers. Paid handyman - wasn't the receivers. Customer service then sent capacitors. Paid handyman - wasn't capacitors. Now all 4 fans are not shifting into high speed AND now all 4 are making a loud humming sound as they rotate. It reverberates throughout my home!!! Hired licensed electrician - and $170 later was told the bearings are bad in the motors. In addition to the purchase price of $800, I now have $400 invested into installation and trouble-shooting. Home Depot said they will try to get the fans replaced ... but then I have to pay another $200 out of my pocket to install these again! LEMONS!!!!! And will probably encounter the same issue again in 6 months based upon other reviews I see. I'm not the only one. I think these fans should be recalled. April 18, 2016

First, the down post that comes with the unit is short and so the area where you are doing the wiring is crowded by the parts of the cowling that will raise up and cover the wiring. In retrospect I wish I had bought a 12 inch pipe to make it easier. Second,if you remove the retaining plate that is in the ceiling at the bottom of the juncture box, the fan is too deeply inset to the ceiling, and so the screws that attach the "bowl" to the electrical area are turned almost to the ends of their grip to extend through the receiving holes. Again, not truly a flaw with the item, just an experience I had as a first time installer. August 12, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Second time around I ordered a different Hampton Bay fan and installed it prior to this one. The first one just didn't work out and was sub-par quality. I almost steered away from a Hampton Bay fan after the first one went to bad, but all of my new fixtures were from this set. I am very glad I stuck with the series. This fan installed perfectly and looks better than I thought it would with all the new fixtures. Installation was as easy as it gets for a ceiling fan (obviously still took a good chunk of time). If you are not experienced with fans and/or electrical, I recommend getting some help with the install. Especially if you plan to bypass the remote control feature. October 6, 2015
