Customer Reviews

Rated 3.2 out of 5 by 14 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by unreliable This fan started having problems right away. The light would work fine but the fan would come on and off intermittently until finally it just stopped working altogether (the very same day of install). When I press the remote I can hear the receiver making a clicking sound which tells me that the problem is either in the relay to the motor or the motor itself. I even had my cousin (who is an electrician) look at it & said that the connections/ installation looked okay. We may keep it up because we really like the light & styling of it & may just remove the fan blades. That's why it gets 1 star with me. May 1, 2011
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by 4 tries, still not working I bought this fan last year because it is gorgeous, and since then, I have replaces the motor once and gotten 2 more fans sent to me, and I'm finally giving up. The light is fine, but the motor has a serious defect because it works for only a few weeks then starts making a grinding noise and doesn't spin at the appropriate speed. The customer service has been WONDERFUL and I've never had to fight to get a replacement part or a new fan sent to me. I am finally giving up on this fan and I asked for a refund. I'm getting another, less attractive fan that actually works July 23, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by update on my broken fan... I first called HD on a Friday nite at 5pm so manufactuer was already closed for the day. HD rep told me she'd have manuf rep call me... I got a call from manuf rep Monday morning. he listened to my problem and sent me a replacement part he thought would work. unfortunately it did not work, still have same problem so they're sending me a whole new fan! so my fan still isnt working but a new one is on the way and I was very impressed with HD and manuf reps. both really seemed to care about my issue and are helping me get it resolved... Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by 2 fans - both quit working Purchased two of these and both stopped working less than 6 months after buying. The only way to use the fan is with the remote. There is no pull chain. The remote still turns the light on and off just fine. However, one fan will not come on at all and the other is stuck on medium. The speed can't be changed and it can't be turned off other than turning off the power switch. They look great, but they simply don't work. I've looked around a bit on the internet and this seems to be a widespread problem with Hampton Bay. Buy another brand. June 11, 2011
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by love fan but having issues... I purchased this fan in January and Ive loved it so far. it really is beautiful and doesnt look like the typical celiing fan. however, recently the fan stopped working... the light still works, there's a hum and a click when I try to turn on the fan with the remote but no turning of the blades... Ive had no storms, no power surges.. I contacted Home Depot, they're trying to get me in touch with Hampton Bay to trouble-shoot and supply repair parts. I will update once the problem has been rectified,... April 15, 2011
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Looks good, poor quality I read the reviews and went ahead and bought it anyway because it wouldn't be used that much. So I thought what the heck. The fan/light looks great, but works for junk. The light flickers when using wall switch and the fan itself has a clicking noise when it's on. We are a new construction and our electricain looked at it twice and finally took it down stating the fan is faulty. So we're returning it and going with something better. November 29, 2012
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Stay Away I also purchased two of these fans late 2010 because of the unique styling. Recently both fans have quit working within one month of one another. The lights still work in both units but the fan will not turn on via remote. There is a clicking sound in the receiver but no activation of the fan. I have an inquiring in with Home Depot. Hopefully they will resolve this issue. Stay away from this fan. September 5, 2011
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by remote did nto work Even after hiring a profession electrician the remote control unit provided did not work. I now have to try and find a replacement for an online only item or convince the local store to give me a generic one without charging me for it. other than that the fan assembly was easy. The fan does not include a manual switch to go from forward to reverse without the remote even though the instructions say it has one. March 3, 2011
