I installed an external in-line fuse holder. The second power supply that failed had a blown BTA06-600C (Triac which controls the dimmer). That device has a current rating of at least three times the fuse, but mine had essentially no heat-sink compound, so it overheated and blew. I was able to fix that unit too, but purchased a spare so I could make a quick swap as I use them in rental town homes.
The transformers are sold under both Commercial Electric and Hampton Bay names. Same part number 150-330.

Try replacing fuse first, it is 3A 125V (3 amp 125 volt). it is located in the housing, but very easy to replace.

Answer:
If your product is less than years old Home Depot will replace under warranty if you have the receipt. Simply take the controller box along with your receipt to the store and they will swap it for one right out of the box. Otherwise if your product is out of Warranty or you do not have the receipt, open the controller box and change the fuse with like rated fuse.

Answer:
Thank you for your recent inquiry with The Home Depot. Unfortunately, the Home Depot does not sell that part of the item as an individual unit for a replacement part. However, I believe the best advice is to reach out to the manufacturer of the product. For any other questions, please call us at HomeDepot.com Customer Service 800-430-3376.

I would like to control these lights with a wall dimmer however the lights seem to require the touch dimmer. They will not come on until the touch dimmer is connected. How do I eliminate the need for the touch dimmer?

Must use dimmer. However, if you are handy, you can modify the cord to the dimmer and connect to a low voltage dimmer switch.

I don't know if you can and I don't know how you've wired them, so I can't really say. By the way, I don't recommend halogen or xenon lights because they burn very hot. I would install LED's instead.

Are you sure it is the button that is bad? Since it works off of body capacitance, there isn't much in the button to fail ? The components that fail most frequently are the fuse and triac, both in the strip.
PS Unplugging the unit when replacing light bulbs decreases the chance of blowing a fuse.
Hope this helps,
Brian

Check the switch cord. If pinched, it will act wierd. Or vibration on the cord will too. The whole on of dimmer puck and cord can be touched to control lights.

Rated 3.0 out of 5 by 99 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Amazing results for $39.99 I had mixed feelings after reading many of the reviews on here. I was extremely pleased with the product once I purchased it and brought it home. I flip properties for a living and needed something affordable to add some character to this small kitchen. The only drawback is that the product is not designed to reach from one end to the other of a typical kitchen. I did purchase some extra electrical line and connectors and had to extend the electrical lines that connect the lights tot he main switch. That was the only drawback, I'm sure that the attached pictures will speak for themselves. This is a no brainer purchase. January 3, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by In cabinet lighting Used for in and under cabinet lights. White. Simple connection to an outlet. Where your outlet is located is what you see. So, all the outlets and cords are all located behind 6" crown molding around the cabinets. These have a small tap switch. Looks like a 1 1/2 semi flat circle, with three (3) light settings plus off easiy to hide under lip of cabinet. Just tap and you can easily set the light you want. These Do not get very hot. July 17, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Hard to install and wiring is hard to hide The wiring of the lights was very difficult and it was hard hiding the extension cords. My previous set of lights were daisy chained together and much easier to wire. These did not seem like they were designed for being placed under cabinets. The sticker to hold the switch fell down after a few days. February 16, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Hampton Bay under Cabinet light's Great product easy to install made kitchen look better bright light cool dimmer control. Lights do tend to get hot. June 7, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Cheap throw away junk These lights are ok for a flipper sale but useless for longer than 6 months. I installed them as per the instructions. The under-cabinet bulbs blew one by one over a 2 year period. The plastic pucks got so hot that it caused brittleness and even though I never replaced the blown bulbs the pucks are now falling from their bases. The over cabinet lights have lasted a little longer but half of the bulbs have blown. I assume that cheap bulbs are included in the kits and the expectation is that the purchaser will buy more expensive replacement bulbs. I have rated these lights as poor only because that is the lowest rating option. Home depot should extend the rating range to include junk as an option. Buying cheap, Mea Culpa. April 11, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Bright Lights This set of lights put off the perfect under cabinet amount of light. The cords were easy to hide. I like the low profile as well. May 10, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by blows out after 5 months, the black puck/transformer broke....dont buy it April 28, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Junk! Don't waste your time and money! I purchased one set, and the plug for the touch on and off switch was so loose it kept falling out of the power supply, and a plug for one of the lights was also very loose, so I took the set back. The next set was slightly better, but the plug for the on and off switch was still loose, so I put silicone on the outside portion to keep it plugged in, and that worked. I put the lights in a display cabinet that was installed wall to wall, and if there was a problem with the lights, the cabinet would have to come out. Well, about two months after I installed the display case the lights began turning on and off for no apparent reason other than the fact that they're junk. Eventually we were unable to turn them off at all, so I had to disconnect the lights from the power to turn them off. I should have purchased a more expensive set of lights, which would have saved me time and money in the long run. March 13, 2016
