While remodeling our bedroom, I decided to see what was available to replace the cheap plastic trims which were installed with our recessed lights. Found these new Hampton Bay trims on line, and boy what a difference they make. They are elegant and easy to install. Can't wait to replace the remaining 11 light trims.

Bought 2 of these light fixtures a year ago and love the look they give the living room so I had to buy another for the entry area. A snap to install and the look when the light is on is awesome.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by steagle Great appearance, terrible reflector, heavy weight
This would be a 5 star product if the reflector design wasn't absolutely awful. If you end up installing these yourselves you'll come to realize what I mean. The reflector - which is extremely small compared to most standard can light reflectors - has two holes in the aluminum that go over two small plastic nubs on the trim fixture. You attach the reflector by putting it over these nubs then twisting to lock it in place. The problem is, it never locks in place, and when you go to screw in the light bulb, the slightest touch and the reflector can come loose and end up sitting on the bulb rather than staying attached to the fixture itself. If your house has can lights that were not installed perfectly (like mine), you'll find that getting the reflector to stay in place while screwing in the light bulb will be a major chore. A couple times I gave up and just let the reflector sit on the bulb because it was impossible to keep it in place otherwise. It wouldn't take much effort on the part of Hampton Bay to fix this lazy design flaw (how about a longer cut in the aluminum, to allow it to screw on much farther?) Also speaking of design, why couldn't Hampton Bay just assemble these in the factory instead of sending them out piecemeal? They're not that hard to put together, but it is time consuming and annoying especially when you're doing a lot at once (in my case it was 16).
One other important note - these are much, much heavier than the trim I replaced (basic two-piece fixture with a large cylindrical reflector and a cheap plastic outer ring). Because of their weight, they pull down on the electrical socket with more force, and in my case, they actually caused some kind of wiring damage as none of the lights in this room will turn on after the new trim was installed. I now have to hire an electrician to find the fault and repair, turning a cheap home improvement job into a potentially wallet-draining fixer. Granted I live in an older house previously owned by a person who considered himself to be an electrician, which is pretty funny if you could see my house, and I probably just triggered some lazy, haphazard setup he did years ago.
At any rate, these ARE beautiful looking can trims, and go great with rooms that have an older, earthy feel to them. I'm sure once my electrical issues are solved I will be much happier with them.

Bought a home in which the pendant lights, DR table light and den ceiling fan all matched in this pattern Rhodes Nutmeg. There were 3 recessed lights that stood out as being cheap by comparison, and glared out at me. I was happy to be able to get rid of the cheapos and match them to the rest of the house. Looks fabulous. Little hard to match bulb size, but finally got it and didn't need to use included refelctors.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by CCDailey Beautiful collection!
We just purchased our new contruction home in March '09. The kitchen and breakfast room had a total of 13 recessed lights. We bought the Rhodes nutmeg finished recessed can trim kits for all 13. They look beautiful and give it a elegant look. The trim kits are $19.99 at your local Home Depot store, so you can save $10 per trim kit if you buy at the store instead of online. We also purchased the ceiling fan and the pendant light as well. We are planning on purchasing the chandiler at some point to go in the formal dining. You will not be disappointed with the collection and the easy to install instructions for do-it-yourselfers! A+ product. Excellent price and the start to enjoy the comments you will be receiving!

What a beautiful difference! I love the look of these can lights, had them installed along with the matching pendants today and can't stop looking at them. They make my kitchen look modern and chic. The subtle reds and blues flowing thru the amber adds just the high-end look I was striving for. So pleased with my great buy!

So disappointed that I'll have to retn these. Installer indicated that we needed Progressive Lighting Can Trim--these wouldn't fit right. They are really nice, and I would recommend them to anyone who has the type can trim that is compatible
