I totally agree and took this from someone else's review. Home Depot is not what it use to be.
I wish I had read this before I purchased. I could not return since I had the contractor at my house and ready to install. He had to fix the back.
*****Please note there are no shelves!!!!*****
"The drawers and dummy plate in front of the sink area are attached too high to allow for the counter top overhang. We had to add a 1/2" strip along all the edges to raise the counter top so the drawers could open. Also, there were no corner blocks in the cabinets to attach the counter top."

The only reason I bumped the stars up to 2 is because these cabinets are actually pretty. Decieving to say the least. Ive purchased kitchen cabinets from HD before and they were good quality and have withstood years of use by tenants. I didnt get these cabinets out of the packaging before they were showing signs of needing repairs. The backs arent much more than catd board and the drawers are misaligned and actually attached at the back to the cardboard. I expected much better from Home Depot and Hampton Bay. Im reconsidering buying anything else Hampton Bay and will be returning these cabinets. They are garbage and would NEVER stand up to typical daily use.

These cabinets are cheaply made from the materials to the joinery. The drawer slides are very flimsy and came attached misaligned. The door hinges are cheaply made, and the finish is flawed. Had I removed it from the box earlier in the remodel process, I would have returned it in favor of something of better quality. Fortunately, I was using it as vanity surrounded on three sides, so there's plenty of structural support to compensate for its flimsiness.

I bought this sink base based on color, price, and availability. In the store it was packaged and I could not see what turned out to be major design problems. The drawers and dummy plate in front of the sink area are attached too high to allow for the counter top overhang. We had to add a 1/2" strip along all the edges to raise the counter top so the drawers could open. Also, there were no corner blocks in the cabinets to attach the counter top. Before you buy this unit open the box and check for corner blocks then ask the associate to test fit a demo piece of the counter top you want to put on this sink base unit.

Not a lot of planning went into the design. The distance between the top of the drawer and the top of the cabined is about a quarter of an inch. If you install a countertop that has a rolled front you will need to build up the cabinet as it will not accommodate any overhang.. You may also have to remove the drawers and reinstall them. Mine were a bit out of square so they didn't close well. All-in-all this cabinet is fine for a garage. I wouldn't suggest its use for a kitchen.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by 62236 Looks nice, dont get it wet. White laminate peels off at the top of doors and drawers. Needs more hot glue to hold it together!
When moving this base cabinet to position it for mounting and leveling, the front part which is pine, stapled together and glued, come apart which required using liquid nails, clamps and my air stapler to put it back together. While hooking up the water lines, some water did pool on the bottom of the interior and IMMEDIATELY caused the underlying MDF to swell and discolor. The drawer guides are noisey, bind and are stiff, rather than glide nicely. Rather than take the cabinets back to the store, I repaired what I could, myself. If you are interested in aesthetics only and not quality construction, these cabinets are fine..But who needs cabinets that look good only? I'm using them in a basement kitchen area which will mostly be used during summer months and during food preparation for parties on the patio area. If they were used in a high useage area, I'm quite certain they would not hold up very long, at all.
