Customer Questions & Answers

does the cord run from the top part of the lamp, or wired through the bottom? Thanks.

Wondering if the cord will be hidden from view or if it will be visible as it extends from the top to the floor outlet. Thanks.
Asked by: Seth
It's from the top, BUT it has 3 clamps to run along the pole that successfully keep it down so that you don't see them until you reach the bottom of the floor lamp.

The whole lamp has a square cross-section, so all shelves (and floor footprint) are 10 1/4 x 10 1/4

Product Overview states that this fixture uses a 150-Watt bulb while the specifications states a maximum bulb wattage of 23; which is correct?
Asked by: AW
Correct: 150 watt incandescent bulbs or the equivalent LED bulb(25 watt LED) or equivalent CFL bulb (30 watt CFL) is correct.

Can I order a new lamp shade for the black shelf floor lamp?

Asked by: 1215
No, but you could make one pretty easily by wrapping fabric around the top of the posts. The factory one is literally a "box" open on each end that slips between the side posts.

Customer Reviews

62.75 in. Black Shelf Floor Lamp is rated 3.5 out of 5 by 14.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just as Desired! First of all, I don't know what half of these reviewers were talking about. I almost didn't keep this lamp because of some of the inaccurate statements made on their behalf. Always try to evaluate reviews to think to yourself, "Is there really something wrong with the product or is it that the customer had a problem following directions or encountered another personal/individual shortcoming?" I found the latter to be the case. 1. It was so simple to put together: The instructions were clear and everything is labeled making it even easier. They provided easy diagrams. 2. There was no weird smell whatsoever. 3. The parts were of quality, I was able to screw them on tightly into position without any wobbling nor splitting of the wooden poles. It's very clear some didn't screw it tightly enough or went overboard. I know, because I put two together in my room. 4. It's a good amount of brightness. 5. Someone mentioned having to use "Goo Gone" to remove the stickers, they could have not even thought about these stickers if they didn't install the shelves sticker side up, I mean... that seemed like a pretty obvious move. 6. It DOES warn you not to have more than 6 pounds on the shelves. I guess people don't listen. I have mine on carpet with no problems of it looking like it'll tip over or anything. Glad to say that I'm satisfied and you will be to. Just follow directions perfectly and apply common sense, and you'll be happy! Hope this review is helpful!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great floor Lamp This is a very stylish and functional lamp. It was easy to put together. It uses a 150 watt bulb making it extremely bright. The only drawback for me was that each piece was individually wrapped-and it's a lot of pieces! We are buying another one to complete our look.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pretty good! Easy to install and looks great! This product delivers in a huge way. If you need a decent floor lamp but also shelves for stuff you have laying around, then this is what you need. It took me literally 10 minutes to assemble. Here is a tip for you so you won't make the same mistake as I. Each shelf will have a white sticker on one face. Make sure that face where the sticker is placed is facing DOWN. Because for the love of god, that sticker leaves marks and is a pain to get rid of. I paired this floor lamp with a Cree 6w 4flow A19 bulb(the new ones)

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not worth the cost This is a neat looking lamp, and with the shelving is great for a corner or even as a night stand in a guest bedroom. But the quality is definitely not worth $60. The wooden pieces are light and cheap. Installation is a breeze with everything screwing together nicely. But the boards creak as you tighten them, and one even broke with very little pressure while screwing in. Once together it looks nice, but is not very stable. You wouldn't want to put any collectibles or anything fragile as just turning on the lamp will cause it to wobble significantly. For $30 it would be fine, but not for $60.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy to assemble. Looks good, and is functional. This unique lamp is easy to assemble. I think I understand how others failed at putting this together. You do NOT want to tighten down each screw like it's a spark plug in your car! Just screw in the 'beams' until they are barely tight, then turn 1/4 more and you're done! I think what most people who have complained here did, was keep tightening the 'beams' or legs until they broke or cracked. Think about it; it's plastic and wood - not metal! You can't just keep tightening the beams until they don't spin anymore because you WILL damage them. The bad reviews about 'cracked wood' and things during assembly must be user error. It looks good, and it is a convenient lamp with shelves to place little things on. I think it would be an excellent value at $40 - but at $60 it's average. Would I buy it again at $60? Yes! - By Divya Nanjappa

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stunning.... We purchased it today and it took my husband minutes to assemble it. It's just beautiful, the shelves are great for adding pics or trinkets. For $59.00, I'm buying another one. Thanks guys.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Broke while assembling Bought this over the "Mainstays" brand at WalMart because it seemed to be of higher quality... it really isn't. It's very flimsy and the wood split when installing because it is very brittle. Good luck putting it together without overtightening and splitting something. Also, don't freak out if you can't find the wingnut listed, it's on the cord already. Would recommend if it was a $39 lamp, not worth what I paid.
